Hyperventilation; every fan girl goes through this. Especially if that fan girl is obsessed with My Chemical Romance, and especially if she was on Google Images looking up photos of the famous band.

“I just want to marry every single one of them,” I mumbled to myself, sitting in my dad’s office with my face five centimeters away from the monitor.

“I don’t think your mate will be too happy with that,” my best friend Madeline said from my side.

I glared at her, “One of them could be my mate.” I haven’t exactly found the special guy yet.

“They're not even Werewolves!” She all but exclaimed.

I shook my head and turned back to the computer screen, “So.” I mumbled.

In the werewolf world that is my home, you could not have relationships with humans, or anything that wasn’t of our species. It was not because we despised them or anything like that; it was just that they were human, while we were lycans. It would be like a narwhal dating a lion, unnatural.

“Girls,” my mother called from the down stairs. “Dinner is ready, come down here.”

Maddy and I cringed; my mother’s food was not something you want to celebrate.

“Coming,” we yelled in sync as we walked out of the office and down the steps.

In the kitchen were my mother and father, who seemed to be talking seriously about something.

I cleared my throat and they looked up to me. “Uhh, hi,” I said awkwardly.

My father spoke first. “Madeline, I’m afraid something came up and you're going to need to go home, Give Beta Rodgers this note, understand? Be sure not to read it yourself. Your guard is already outside to escort you.”

“Yes alpha,” she said to my father, “Bye Rosie, see you later.”

“Bye..?” I said questionably. As soon as she was out of the door I looked at my parents. “Why does Maddy need a guard?”

“An Alpha is making an appearance on our territory tonight. As Alpha of this pack, it is my duty to make precautions, ensuring the safety of our wolves. That is what was on the note.” My father said.

“Why is an Alpha coming here?” I wondered aloud.

“We want to make an alliance with his pack, The Liex Pack. I am sure you have heard of it.”

I felt my mouth drop and my arms go up in the air. “That is the biggest pack in North America! How did you manage to get a word in with the Alpha? I’m sure everyone wants him as an alley.”

My mother was the one to speak this time, “Sweetie our pack may be small, but we know how to get around. Go and get cleaned up a bit, our special guests will arrive in less than an hour.”

“What’s wrong with what I’m wearing now?” I asked looking down at myself. I was wearing bright blue socks, light skinny jeans and a black band T-shirt. “I feel rather comfortable.”

“At least change into a nicer blouse and darker jeans.” She said and I turned to go to my room. “Hun,” I turned to look at her, “lose the socks.”

Grumbling, I headed upstairs to change. Five minutes later, while I was hopping up and down trying to put on my jeans, the doorbell rang. “Shit.” I whispered, tugging on my jean and running down stairs. An hour had definitely not passed.

I arrived at the door at the same time my parents had, eager to see the ever so famous Alpha.

Mother and I lined up next to the door, while father opened it. This was a way of showing respect.

As soon as the door cracked open the most delicious scent filled my nostrils. Mate.

Two bodies walked in, but I could only focus on one. I’m just putting this out there, he was hot. Like, hotter than Logan Lerman. He is taller than me, which is surprising, because I am pretty tall myself. He also had the most amazing grey eyes that I swear I could look into for hours. The want to throw myself at him was only getting stronger.

I felt so cliché; I didn’t even know what to do with myself.

“Mate.” His husky voice spoke up, his eyes getting darker.

I felt my face flush, and did what any girl would do in a dire situation like this. I bowed.

I Bowed! I didn’t think my life could get any worse than it just did. Mentally face palming myself; I came up with the best excuse that I could think of at the moment.

“Well I’m going to use the bathroom,” I lied awkwardly, “Bye.” I sped walked up to my room.

Slamming the door shut, belly flopped on my bed, shoving my face into a pillow. “Why am I so embarrassing?” I muffled into the pillow.

I heard the door open and that wonderful smell filled the room. I pretended I was asleep, trying to steady my breathes.

“I know you’re awake.” He said.

“Oh.” I muffled.

“Will you please sit up so we could talk?” He asked politely

Well since you said please, I thought in my head. In reality I got up slowly.

When I was up right he pulled me in for a bone crushing hug, sniffing my neck. As weird as this sounds, it felt amazing.

“Why did you run away, love?” He whispered into my neck.

I held back a giggle, I was extremely ticklish.

“Uhh- I- Uhhh….”

“Well?” He asked impatiently, “Do you not want me?”

I panicked, about to throw my hands in the air. He wouldn’t let me, his hold was too tight.

“You don’t.” He sounded so heartbroken, that I, myself wanted to cry.

“I do, I mean, I was embarrassed. I bowed! I bowed in front you, my mate! And we were in front of my parents and whoever came with you. I felt so awkward I didn’t even know what to do with myself! And you were all sexy with your ‘mate’ voice, I was about to kiss your lips off. I had to get out of there before I started blabbering, kinda like I’m doing right now…” I trailed off from my fifty words a second speech, sort of hoping that he missed half of that. However by the smirk I saw on his mouth, I am pretty sure that’s not the case.

“You think I’m sexy?”

“I never said that.” Why do I do this to myself?

“I heard you.”

“I said that I think your voice is sexy, not you as a whole.”

He kept that smirk on his face, and then opened his mouth to speak.

“What’s your name?” I asked suddenly, I was curious. Also I may have been trying to change the subject by accident, on purpose.

“Ian. And yours?”

“Rosaline.”

“Beautiful name, for a beautiful girl.”

“Cliché line, for a cliché guy.” I smiled, and he did too.
