New World, New Challenges

The Beginning

It’s not like I expected this to happen. No one did. It just . . . happened. But, I’m getting ahead of myself here, you don’t even know what happened yet. Let me tell you.

First off, my name is Rin Shakaba, though I used to be Rin Lablank, when this all started, I was your average 16 year old, well, my version of average. I had Wings, huge black with dark red undersides, feathered wings. I wasn’t the only one though, No, many of my friends also had them. Sapphy, Mimi, Fer-kun, Fang-chan, Aya, Acey-Imouto-chan, Aya, Phoenix, Shadow, Kitten, Ray, Eternal, and many others, though I didn’t actually know most of them in Real Life, No, the only ones I knew in real life were Acey-Imouto-Chan and Sapphy-Nee-chan, all the others I knew from online. We had all managed to find a site and convened there because we all had one goal, to Grow wings.

It had started a long time ago, 2 years now. But after that, we had all actually manages to grow wings. Something even I will admit, I was skeptical that we could accomplish. But, we did it, crazy as it may sound. All of us. In our joy, we never say the spy among us. Just as we started to feel safe with our wings and be used to flying with them, it happened.

We were exposed. All Otherkin where. Nekos, Werewolves, Vampires, Shapshifters, anything non-human, and of course, Avians, what my friends and I now were.

As you would expect from Humans, they freaked. Entire armies we sent after the Otherkin, there was nothing we could do, except run and or fight. Unfortunately, the fighting option always led to death, so Me, Sapphy, and Ace were left with the option of Run.

As we ran we met up with many of the people I had met online. Mimi, with her long brown hair and black bangs, green eyes shining with rebellion, Fang-chan, Black hair, block cloths, and violently trying to attack and kill everyone who dared harm us and randomly kissing me, much to my chagrin. Aya, White hair with blue tips, kind and sarcastic, Eternal, long dark brown hair and glasses, kind and funny. Phoenix, black hair brown skin, bright bubbly personality. And of coarse, Sapphy, Long golden blond hair, my sister, Nee-chan, Blue eyes shining with encouragement and Ace, Long bright blue hair brown eyes and serious tone, and Me, Short brown hair with long purple braid on the right, tanned skin brown eyes.

We were a mismatched bunch, but somehow we were able to make it through together. Others joined in as we went. Kitten and Shadow, Hero and Skybird, we all managed to make a very dysfunctional family.

For a few months everything worked well. We hid, we ran, we survived. Until, they found us. . .
