Bring it On!

“DIVE!” I yelled as a crossbow bolt narrowly missed my head. We had just been flying to try and get away from that last town, but It looks like we had been found out before we could get far enough away. Everyone immediately knew what was going on, and dived into the field. Well it made us easier targets it was the best way to get them to show themselves, otherwise the Hunters would pick us off one by one from the shadows.

We all landed and took out our weapons in a flash. We huddled in a circle, ready to take on attacks from all sides.

“Bring it on!” Fang yelled, holding her Scythe at the ready.

“Don’t act stupid Fang-chan!” I braked at her; I didn’t want her to get herself killed.

“Che!” She said. I rolled my eyes and swung one of my twin Scimitars around to warm up.

“We can take them!” Mimi said, cocking one of her twin hand guns and checking her refill ammo on her belt quickly.

“Don’t be so cocky” Ace said, serious as ever.  She scanned the area, double sided glaive at the ready.

“Their coming.” Eternal said, cocking an arrow into her long bow, ready to fire at any time. Ray nodded, Brow cornrows falling into her face a little, also readying her bow.

“We’re ready.” Shadow said, getting into a fighting stance with her twin long swords.

“Everyone remember to stay together, there’re strength in numbers!” Sapphy said, dagger and short sword at the ready. We all nodded.

Aya took out her Katana and one throwing knife, getting ready to either strike or throw.  Phoenix gripped her Sai’s tightly, scanning the area. Kitten was grinning and holding her long sword at the ready, she loved gore.  Hero and Skybird were back to back, each holding a Bo-staff.

Suddenly someone fell out of the sky and into eh ground, Crossbow bolt in their arm. “Dam it!” They cussed. We all looked at her, but did not break formation. This kid couldn’t be anymore than 12 or 13, but she was an Avian too, so we would help her. She had dark brown hair that fell over her left eye and wings of the same color.

“You OK?” I asked not actually looking at her, but scanning the area.

“Ya.” She said, standing up and joining our formation with her own two daggers. “I’m Alex.” I nodded.

“Rin. Welcome to the fight.” I said. She nodded back.

“THERE!” Eternal yelled, letting lose her arrow into the grass. Suddenly all hell broke loose.

Hunters were everywhere. I spent most of the time block projectiles that actually fighting anyone. From the looks of everyone else they weren’t doing too well either.

“Dam it!” I yelled. “We need to get closer to them!”

“Easier said than done Rin!” Ace yelled back. Suddenly.

“GAH!” Fang had broken formation to try and get to them and not had an arrow through her stomach!

“FANG-CHAN!”  Yelled.

“I’m fine!” She yelled, getting back into formation and using her Scythe to block as best her could. Knowing Fang-chan she wouldn’t be down for long, but this was bad. Me and Ace got in front of them and blocked from them well Sapphy went and healed Fang.

“This is bad.” Ace said.

“Ya think!” came my sarcastic reply. “At least Eternal, Ray, and Mimi can take out a few of them, and Aya, but the rest of us can only block!”

“She good now!” Sapphy said. “be care more careful ok Fang?”

“ya, whatever.” Fang grumbled and got right back to blocking and managed to take out one Hunter who got to close, she grinner rather evilly at that.

I took a chance and managed to jump up and over to the backs of 3 of them, take them out, and get back to the others without getting to seriously injured. The others saw this and started doing the same. Sapphy, Hero, and Skybird stayed to block weapons from hitting our Archers, Eternal and Ray, and Mimi, with her guns.

We managed to keep doing this for a few hours, but we couldn’t take out enough of them, and we were getting very tired, even with our increases Endurance.

“I can’t keep this up much longer.” Ace said, panting slightly.

“Ditto.” I grimaced to have to admit it. “We have to figure out something to do.”

“I’m getting low on Ammo!” Mimi scowled.

“Same here!” Eternal said solemnly.

“I only have one arrow left.” Ray said as she shot the last one at one of the Hunters and took out her daggers.

“I ran out of throwing knives a while ago.” Aya said just before killing a Hunter with her Katana.

“Great, so ranged attacks are going to be useless soon!” I said. I jumped forwards again and took out some more Hunters, going a little overboard because of my anger at all of this.  Suddenly all attacks were aimed at our long ranged specialists!

Eternal was hit first getting hit in the Leg. Then Ray, in the torso. Next was Mimi getting it in the lower arm and losing her grip on one of her guns.

Cries “GUYS!” “ETERNAL!” “RAY!” “MIMI” rang out from our group.

“Everyone protect them, Healers!” I yelled, getting into position around Ray Mimi and Eternal. Sapphy Alex and Ace ran over to them, each started to heal one of them. The rest of us blocked all the projectiles thrown at us, and killed the occasional Hunter who tried to charge us. It took longer than expected, because everyone was tired, but eventually everyone was healed.

“They’ll be ok.” Ace said, getting up and grabbed her double glaive and was almost ready to fight again until.

“ACE! NO!” I screamed, just as an arrow hit her, right over her heart. “ACE!”
