I’VE BEEN TO HELL
Would you believe me if I told you I’ve been to stay in hell?
That I’ve wrestled, burnt and squirmed around in the pit where demons dwell
My puny toes were licked and teased by the fiery flickering flames
My suffering was absolute, and I’ll never be the same
Although at times it must be said I return to stir the embers
I wear a chain around my neck, saying please return to sender
The pull of Hell's magnetic depths is sometimes just too tempting
The demons coax, induce me in, their call is unrelenting
And yet I am still standing, not sound but not insane
I went to Hell, stamped out the fire, then climbed back up again.
