A HURT UNINTENDED
A hurt unintended that was once done enraged the traveller’s fury
Regretful pleas henceforth were said but contrition was rejected
Unhealthy words, thrown out in spite, displayed no kind forgiveness
And with a heinous darkened stare he claimed to bear me ill
Whereupon a devilish curse was spun to bring amongst my kin
No more a happy even fate to guide our gentle path
But filthy ravages caked in death and packages full of sin
Much maligned, the ulcers weep, as dander keeps its dreadful hold
As one by one we fail and fall while cackles tear our delicate souls
What chance have we against such din, when we succumb to hellish curses?
But faith gives light where there is dark and salvation is still waiting
And hope once sown offers firm flight to those who are upstanding
And so the curse is exorcised and sent back to he who raised it
For a hurt unintended that was once done should not enrage such fury
Nor should any regretful pleas be ignored or heartfelt contrition be rejected.
