I woke up as we pulled into this old Victorian house driveways. It's dark green but beautiful. Just stunning. The man gets out of the car and the girl beside me is holding back tears but she grabs my arm and the next thing I know she has her arms wrapped so tight around me that I can't move from her grip no matter what. He opens the door and grabs us. He lifted us up with no problem. Even though the other girl is terrified out of her right mind.. I'm not so I start to talk as he walks up the stairs and sets her down but my feet dangle as she holds me above the ground.

"So what's your name? I'm sky! I'm 10 years young! Hehe because I'm not old yet!" I start to giggle but he just opens the door and ushers her inside. She sets me down once inside and he shuts the door and flips the lights on. She grabs a hold of my hand as I look around at the beautiful scenery. The house is huge! Everything looks perfect. I'm just breathless. Then he interrupts my thoughts.

"I'm your dad now. This is your mother. Your name is not Sky anymore. It's Allison Strong but if anyone asks I'm Jacob Strong and this is Lauren Strong. We're your new parents. You will never see your old family again. Goodnight. Oh and your hair.. Gotta change that!" Then he turns around and as a tear escapes my eye she squeezes my hand as to tell me no. I try to stop but I feel the tears run down my cheeks like rain and I begin sobbing. He turns around.

"Honey you com-" But his voice trailed off and then in what seemed like a split second he slapped me on the face.

"We don't cry in this house or you'll turn out like her." He scowled as he pointed to my "mother" Amanda. I might be 10 but my brother has raised me to be strong and not scared so I sucked up my tears, wiggled my hand free from the wimping women beside me and slapped him right back because he had bent down to be eye level with me. He grabbed a glass plate of the counter in the kitchen and threw it like a frisbee at us. How he got there so fast. I don't know. He missed by an inch and it shattered on the wall behind us.

"You got lucky, this time. Don't ever even think about talking back or throwing fits or hitting me. Got it little girl!?" I shook my head then grinned as sweetly as possible. He's eyes turned a light brown and all his anger and tension seemed to escape or disappear in an instant. Anger problems. Got it.

"Where do I sleep?" I spoke through gritted teeth. He smiled sweetly and spoke.. I hate him already and no I don't want to call him father but I don't want to turn out like Lauren.

"Honey, please show our daughter her new room!" He trailed to the back behind the kitchen were I'm guessing his room is or there's.. She grabbed my hand and led me upstairs. The hallways were huge and everything was bright and welcoming. The counters down stairs were granite! It just looked so fancy and grown up! She opened the second door to the right. The door frame was an archway and it said..

~Her~

I looked into the room where Lauren had just flipped the light on. It felt like it took her and hour to unlock it.

"Lauren.. How old are you?"

"I'm 18. The same age as Dra.. Nick."

"How do you know Drake?"

"We went to school together.. He told me that his real name was Drake.." She half heartedly smiled at me before her face flipped to panic and she ran into the bed room.

"Lauren.." I whispered as I entered the room. There was a queen sized bed with white shits and a white comforter with a thin sheet of lace across the top. The bed frame was metal with dry paint white on it to make it look old. All of the furniture was like that in this room actually. The floor was wood but obviously it has been recently stained but something caught my eye. No not the sparkling lights hanging from the ceiling making it look like a starry night or the beautiful circular window sitting area or the bookshelf that too up one whole wall and went to the ceiling the room was huge but no none of that caught me like this did. There was a crib in the corner of the room and a white rocking chair beside it where Lauren was sitting rocking a little boy. I slowly walked over to her. Her face was red and there was dried mascara on her cheeks from where she was crying and I hadn't noticed the bruises all over her until now. She was very skinny too. Her straight brown hair was everywhere but she still looked absolutely beautiful.
