Footsteps.

Rain.

They were the only 2 things John could hear as he walked home. He didn't think nor talk about anything that happened earlier that day. Only flashes of memories past through his head. The thing that stuck out the most yo him was the once joyful girl covered in the sickening sight of the crimson red liquid. Blood. He remembers seeing her as a child. how happy and cheerful she was whenever she scored a goal or met up with her friends. Then, another flash appears. Her lifeless body lying on the ground with her eyes wide open. Her once shining ,lilac colored orbs now a dull grayish purple.

He shivered at the thought and slid his hands in the pockets of his pitch black jacket. He walked home to his apartment. He was soaking wet when he opened up his door. He hanged up his jacket and slowly made his way over to his room. He flopped onto his bed as soon as he got there, not bothering to change. Soon, he felt the pillow was wet. Hi thought it was just his shirt, due to the fact that he was walking in the rain without an umbrella. But, as it started to get irritating, he put a hand up to touch it. It turns out it wasn't his shirt at all, but rather the tears pouring out from his eyes. He didn't understand why he was crying. Sure, Elise, as her name was, was a friend but they were never close. There was one year when he found out that she had a crush on him but knowing her, he thought she was joking. He tried to get the thought out of his head but all he could thing about was how he solved her case and how she was murdered.

"Murder. She was murdered." he thought.

Flashback

"Ahhhhh!"

Thats how it started. A simple scream.

It was their class reuinion. This group of children were one of the closest groups of friends ever.

Everyone stood up and turned towards the scream. It was their friend, Alyssa, who screamed. She was sitting beside her

"Alyssa! What's wrong!?"

"Its Elise! She just colapsed!"

"Back away from the body! Now all of you!" Jhamila, the doctor of the group yelled.

John stepped up as well to help as he was a detective.

Soon after, he solved the case. And the murderer was Jhamila.

He looked at Elise and slid her eyes closed with his hand. He couldn't bear to look at her eyes unless they were full of color and life. He couldn't bear to look at the dull gray color of her once lilac colored eyes. It was so sad too. She was almost finished with her lawyer studies. She had made a promise to be everyones lawyer and everyone was exited to be her client. She was a great swimmer and a great martial artist. One of the best he's seen. As they took her body away, a note fell out of her pocket with his name on it. He took it and put it in his pocket for him to read later.

End of Flashback

Remembering the note, he took it out of his pocket. He sliced it open with the dagger her kept in his drawer.

Dear John,

Hello again! Its been a while, hasn't it. Well anyways, I just wanted to let you know something. You probably don't care but I just wanted to tell you this because I want this weight lifted off my shoulders. Here I go.

I love you, John.

Please don't let this ruin our friendship. I know you dont like me. You don't have to. Just give my regards to your future wife and tell her that she said yes to the right man.

Bye bye!

John started to cry. He still didnt understand why. She was nothing more than a good friend. Well, he may not have anyone to open up to anymore. He always knew that he could open up to Elise because she was such a good listener.
