"Can you help me win her over? Please Y/N?"
"Uh, yeah, I guess so."
I struggled to get my words out. It seemed as if nothing made sense anymore. Why does he need my help? Couldn't he just get Emma? I mean, she was closer to Olive.
I agreed to help anyways because I knew that Enoch couldn't do this alone and would be too ashamed to ask anyone else if I turned him down.
"Thank you Y/N. That means a lot to me. I know we haven't been the best of friends, or really friends at all, but I hope you'll forgive me for what I've said." He said in a wobbly voice, almost as if he's never apologized for anything. Although I wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't.
I gave him a small smile in return. We stood there awkwardly for a while until he cleared his throat and broke the silence, "Well, I'm going to leave you to get changed. Meet me outside in the garden one you are done please." He said and left, shutting the door behind him.
I looked down at my soaking wet clothes and sighed. I unzipped my dress and stepped into a new, light yellow dress which looked extremely well against my hair. My hair had pretty much dried by then so I just readjusted my bow and changed my shoes. I put my dress in the basket where we put all our dirty clothes and walked outside making my way to the garden.
I saw Enoch sitting down on the bench we had between two trees and plopped myself down beside him. "So what do you want to do first?" I asked. "Well, I was thinking that maybe I could get her flowers? Would that be ok?" He asked, genuinely unsure if flowers were the way to go. "Of course you should get her flowers! That would be very nice, you should also say something to her. Tell her how much you like her and make a special dinner for her too! Oh and don't forget to m-"
"Woah, that's a lot of stuff, can we please go one by one?" Enoch cut me off. I giggled a bit and told him everything he should do.
We spent weeks preparing for his surprise date with Olive, well, I'm pretty sure it was weeks since we are stuck living the same day over and over again.
When the night came for Enoch to ask Olive if she would have dinner with him, I sat up in my room wondering what I did wrong. I grew to like Enoch more and more so helping him try to get another girl was hard. He was suppose to do all of these things with me, not Olive. We were suppose to have that candle lit dinner in the garden together, not Olive. We were suppose to kiss at the end of the night, not Olive.
We were suppose to spend the rest of our lives together, not Olive.
I looked outside my window to see a perfect view of Olive and Enoch giggling and throwing bits of bread at eachother. I smiled sadly at them knowing I would never be in Olives place.
The next morning rolled around and I noticed I fell asleep sitting at my desk writing in my journal. I heard a knock at my door and I told them to come in.
"Good Morning." Someone said in a thick Scottish accent. Enoch.
"Mhm, good morning." I said, rubbing my eyes and smiling as the sun finally peeked into my room so it gave everything a light orange glow.
"Just here to tell you breakfast is ready." He replied, smiling slightly at my un-tidy state.
"First, you have to tell me how your date with Olive went!" I said with a bit of fake excitement.
"It went well." He said, and with that, he left me to get ready.
"Sounds like you had a good time then?" I said, to the now empty space where Enoch was just standing.
I slipped out of the dress I accidentally fell asleep in the night before and changed into a bright peach coloured one with white shoes and a white ribbon holding up my hair in a pony tail.
Breakfast went as usual then everyone went out play a nice game of hide and go seek. I sat down on the couch we had on our back porch to watch everyone run around trying to find a spot to hide. Currently, Fiona was it and I was watching her peek around all the trees and bushes in hopes of finding someone to catch.
I heard the back door open and I looked behind me to see Enoch and Olive walk out of the house holding hands. My smile instantly dropped.
"You're not playing Y/N?" Enoch asked me in a questioning tone.
"No, not this time, I just want to enjoy today and relax." Although it is hard to relax when the boy I like is with another girl.
"Oh, well Olive and I were just about to go for a walk, do you want to come with us?" Enoch asked. I looked over to Olive and noticed she was smiling brightly at me, hoping I would say yes. I thought about it for a moment but thought it would be better to let them have their time alone.
"Thank you, but no thank you. You two go have your fun." I smiled at them.
"If you decide to change your mind we won't be too far so you can come look for us." Olive said cheerily. They walked down the back porch on to the pathway.
Enoch looked back at Y/N who was now smiling at the children playing hide and go seek again and thought how stupid he was for not trying to get the girl he was really in love with.
Y/N.
