"Genevieve,where have you been?" That was the first thing Kayla said to me when I returned

"Away" I told her,walking towards the stairs

"Genevieve,you stay where you are" I looked over at Father

"No" I said,walking up the stairs

"Genevieve Lesile Hastings,you come back down here now!" Father yelled

"You don't control me anymore!" I yelled

"I'm your father and you will obey me" Father said,walking up the stairs

"Genevieve,please listen to your father" Kayla said

I saw the fear in her eyes. What did Father do to her? I can't let her get hurt because of me. I walked downstairs and Father grabbed my arm.

"We need to get your hair back to your regular color" Father said

"I'll take her" Kayla said

"Tomorrow" He said "Kayla,tell Mia to get dinner ready"

"Yes" She said,walking off

"Genevieve,you will change out of those clothes and come to my office when your change in decent clothes" Father said,walking away

Guess I have to obey his rules.

"You will be having a party to celebrate your return and to find you a husband." Father told me

"No. I don't want to find a husband" I said

"You will for the sake of the company" He said

"Why can't I take over the company?" I asked

"Even if I let you,you would destroy the company,that your grandfather built from the ground up" He told me

"I can take care of it. I don't need a husband to help me" I told him

"You will find a husband and that's final" He told me

There was a knock on the door

"Come in" Father said

"Dinner's ready" Kayla said

"Come,Genevieve"

"They helped me. We weren't close" I told him
