im jaebum has been in loved with choi youngjae since the beginning of high school. it all started when jaebum was late to his class and accidentally bumped into youngjae. the older boy dropped the younger one's books. as they picked them up, their hands brushed against each other and jaebum swore that it was a feeling he's never felt before.

ever since that day, jaebum has fallen in love with every little thing about his sunshine: his laugh, his little eye mole, his english (that was choppy, but still better than jaebum's), and most especially, his innocence. a part of jaebum wanted to derail youngjae's innocence, the other part wanted to protect it at any costs.

"you should take a picture, it lasts longer." park jinyoung muttered at his embarrassing friend.

"i love him, jinyoung, i really do." jaebum sighed, resting his chin on the lunch table as he stared at the unaware boy across the cafeteria.

"you've never spoken to him, jae." jinyoung rolled his eyes at his best friend.

"yah! i've tried to, but the words never seem right. i almost feel bad for all the trees i've killed with all the paper that's been crumbled up by me." jaebum bit his lip before pulling out his journal. he flipped through the endless drafts of letters for his sunshine. when he reached the most recent one, he pointed to all of the scribbles. "i've heard more meaningful babbles from speechless babies than this nonsense." jinyoung chuckled at jaebum, taking the journal from him.

originally, jinyoung was going to compliment his friend and say his writing was good, but jaebum was correct. jaebum did not have a way with words. jinyoung, on the other hand, did. "do you want me to help you?"

"after all this time, you're finally going to offer me help?" jinyoung raised an eyebrow at the older boy. "okay, yes, please." jinyoung nodded and told jaebum that he would go to his house after school.

jaebum smiled widely as he turned back to his sunshine. his smiled dropped immediately when seeing the boy he hated the most talking to his sunshine: mark tuan. before his crush on youngjae, jaebum and mark had been relatively good acquaintances, but when he found out that mark and youngjae has a thing; he immediately hated mark. jaebum felt himself staring and giving ugly looks at mark, but didn't care. he hated mark for the way he leaned in, whispering things that made youngjae laugh or smile or sometimes even blush. he hated mark for the way he would grip youngjae's thigh in the middle of class. he hated mark for the way that he's kissed youngjae, probably many times, when jaebum hasn't even spoken to youngjae.

a hand waved in front of jaebum, breaking away his stare from the two boys. it was jackson, a friend (or so they say) of jinyoung's. "hyung, why don't you just go talk to youngjae?" jaebum hummed in response, but ignored the question. instead, he thought about the fact that jackson was still respectful towards him and called him hyung. unlike jinyoung, who never attempted to try formalities.
