"Get out of me pot of gold ya bastard fairy!." Yelled the Leprechaun. "I tells ya them fairies keep stealing our coins and just giving them away for teeth, teeth I tell ya. I ask ya what use is teeth to anyone even a bastard fairy?."

"More bloody useful than a Leprechaun!." loud laughter erupted and the leprechauns face went red with anger but he knew better than to speak out against the wares, they may also be mythical creatures of nature but they weren't well known for their friendly personalities.

"Ah Shamus you'll be right the rainbow never lets it empty." Shamus just glared at him the point was they shouldn't be stealing his gold so children everywhere can believe in them and provide them with unlimited magic. Shamus had to wait several day's and store his magic for use because Leprechauns aren't believed in as they used to be.

"CHILDREN ARE COMING QUIET DOWN!" Children are a threat to our way of life and we can't kill them. Even the bloody ware is quiet. "I seened it over here Georgie it's a fluttery fairy like tinker bells." said a little voice "Emily it was just a butterfly and it's gone now I can't see it." said a boy's voice.

"Over here Georgie, look at them all." Emily stared at them in wonder and awe the way only small children could they were all still as statues small children grab at things and squish them. She picked up the leprechaun and although he wasn't supposed to move he squeezed his eyes shut ready to go up a nose or in a mouth or pocket or where ever awful place children put things.

"Mwah, a kiss for good luck mr lucky charms." she cradled him gently and her cheeks went pink and she whispered "I never kissed a boy afore except daddy don't tell my mummy and daddy please." She looked at him awaiting his answer she frowned an looked at everyone else "Come on Emily there's nothing here." George said impatiently.

Her mouth made an O "I'll be right there Georgie let goes of me, just a second!." she carefully put the leprechaun back almost exactly where he was standing "I'm sorry I'm scary I promises Im not a giant. Bye bye." and put the bark back over the log.

Then she lifted it again "How comes you is all small small?." Emily pointed to the wolf "You're sposed to be big can I have some shrinking drink too, please?." They didn't move and nothing happened "I have fairy wings my mummy bought me if I dress up like a fairy can I comes back and meet you all an be shrunk so you're not scared of me?." Emily was met with more silence her little face fell into sadness then morphed into anger "You don't want to be my friends?." she sniffled "When I grows up I'm going to drive a bulldozer and clear your stupid houses and build a road on it and I have lots of friends." and Emily left for good this time.

The leprechauns cheeks were a rosier shade than usual "Awww I feel bad for the wee little one she was a sweet child I'd not mind if she had come back." Shamus said to no one in particular

The ware exploded growling "She just threatened to flatten our woods, the little..." "Jack! stop that right this second, you should love children you have five of them!, why are you hiding here away from them anyways?." the small sprite woman asked "I'm here hiding from women and children, I was hoping to relax." Jack got up and grabbed a potion on his way out glaring around "Clearly that's not happening today." and with that he stalked out. Someone wasn't having a good day.

"The little one was just sad we can't talk to her is all. She'll forget about us they always do." the leprechaun said trying to diffuse the chatter the wolf had started. Many creatures of the woods dislike humans and if they so wished they can cause problems for them, he didn't want the little one who kissed him experiencing that.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that Shamus she has the sight and some magic." I looked at the hag who had said that with narrowed eyes "Bah, the sight is magic and she has both because of her age, all will be well."

Unfortunately all was not well, a threat was made and those aren't taken lightly, it was ordered by the magical council that the girl be watched. A trustworthy royal delegate from the fey's was commissioned to infiltrate the girls life, becoming her closest friend and confidant.

Every day as the small girl grew she was in the company of the guard who looked her age to her. On the day of her sixteenth birthday it would be determined if she had indeed grown up to be a threat, thus far she had not. At sixteen she will be able to see past their glamour, if she was of magical blood. The guard reported no change in behaviour, despite the several attempts to scare her with the more frightening creatures glamoured, nothing no reaction.

She would be of course monitored throughout her life by the guard. At eighteen the young lady finally admitted she's always been able to see him and everyone else. She admitted she would never harm the woods and she would do her best to keep the woods free from destruction.

The guard was happy with this and left to tell the council, they however were unhappy she had been able to fool him for all those years and insisted she was dangerous. She was to be brought forth to the council for interrogation and possibly torture.

When Emily arrived to answer their questions she seemed nervous "You're nervous, why, is it perhaps because you have something to hide?." She shook her head no "Royalty, should I bow or curtsey or acknowledged them or something?." they whispered amongst themselves

"Why would you think royalty is amongst us child?." she blushed and looked at the floor she shook her head "I just guessed." More whispers "Liar, you will tell is now child or we shall torture the truth from you. Have you been spying and keeping an eye on is too?."

Emily looked frightened "No, I would never. I only know as my boyfriend is from a royal family." more whispers this time from the watching crowd too wondering who. "Are you planning on getting rid of your guard with false promises and going to school to learn how to destroy the woods?."

"No, never!." Emily said desperately "You'll have to await our decision in the cells."

Emily waited a long long time in the cells haven fallen asleep she was awoken by a guard and led back into the court. "You're royal lover refused to confess, we don't believe you, humans are notorious liars so the goblin king shall take you as his bride, you escape death. Court adjourned."

"Prince Alexander is not here to confess." more whispers "Too bad, you'll marry the goblin king."

And Emily and the Goblin King Mervyn lived ever after
