Early update! Yay! I wrote this chapter a while ago, so I was really excited to upload it early. My upload plan is to upload Tuesdays and Fridays now. I'm even going to set a reminder because I know that I'll forget. ^_^ Chapter 5 may or may not come early btw.

Asleigha opened her eyes to see white. Everywhere. She took a deep breath, but was shocked when she inhaled freezing air. She slowly stood up, but hit her head on the glass that enclosed her from the outside. The door was ajar and let in cold air. She looked around for Jackson in the elevator, but figured he must be outside.

"Jackson!" She called out, but there was no response. She tried again. "Jackson!"
Tried to open the metal doors wide enough so that she could get out, but she didn't have enough strength. Stay strong, Asleigha. Her father's words raced through her head over and over. Stay strong, and you will be safe. She pulled with all her might and pried the door open. The door gave way and a rush of cold wind blew the hair off of her face. She stumbled into the cold, fluffy snow and looked around. Just near the elevator was red. Red? Why would the snow be red? She realized shorty after that this wasn't natural. This was Jackson. His body was still and his eyes were open, staring into the distance with a clear look of fear in his eyes. Azzy frantically put her fingers to his neck; no pulse. She started to sob as she closed his beautiful, hazel eyes. The sun started to dawn on their cold bodies. Sun? How long have I been here? She thought. She reached into his pockets to see if he had anything. She found a charm of a lotus, which she added to her necklace for safe keeping. She moved onto his hands and found a ring with the symbol of a dragon breathing ice. She pulled it off his pale, cold finger and slipped it on her thumb.  She slipped his jacket of the no-longer breathing chest, but had trouble when she flipped him over. In his back was a rod of metal. It went directly through his heart. She cried again until she had no liquid left to cry. Azzy walked to the glass box, wrapped herself in his jacket and closed her eyes. The jacket smelled like him.

"April?"
"What?"
"Have you seen Azzy?"
"No."
"Well she hasn't gotten back yet and it's already 3am." Lena said, worriedly.
"So? She went to a party. She'll turn up, eventually." April replied, staring at the ceiling from her bed.
"I know, I'm just worried. I didn't think she would be that type of person."
"What? A party person?" She's 15! Let her live a little."
"I'm going to find her. Are you coming?"
"No... Wait! I don't want you to go alone. I'm coming."
So the twins set off for the stairs, arm in arm. They climbed the three flights of stairs and found the dying party. People were littered on the floor, asleep, yet the music raged on. They found the DJ and walked over to him.
"Hi, have you seen my friend? She is pretty short and has brown hair and green eyes." Lena asked.
"Yeah, she went to the elevator with a guy. He has curly brown hair and hazel eyes." The DJ replied.
"An elevator? Where?" April chimed in, suddenly interested.
"It's kind of hard to explain, but I can show you. Everyone's passed out anyway."
The DJ turned off the music and grabbed his coat. He walked into the hallway. One left, two rights. Lena thought. The great silver door opened, revealing a hole where the elevator should be. Lena stepped forward, but April pulled her back just before she reached the hole.
"Watch out!" April yelled. She pulled her sister back to safety.
"We could try calling the elevator." The DJ suggested.
So, Lena pushed the button and turned back towards her sister. The DJ ran away. She turned back towards the elevator with a sigh and saw the small glass box, magically repaired, that would soon decide  their fate. On the floor of the elevator, there was a single red earring.

Azzy was half-asleep when her only shelter started shaking. She quickly crawled through the opening. The glass box started to rise into the air, collecting speed as she watched. It was going slow enough that she could follow it, but so fast she had to run. Azzy pushed on, running with all of her strength. She pulled out her earring, noticing that one was missing. Finally, her legs collapsed and she fell into a heap of skin and bones. She sat there, in the snow, for hours. She was alone.

I've got them right where I want them. The man thought. The girl, she possesses magic more than she could dream of. And the twins, well, they are key to my escape. Curiosity killed the cat, or in this case, the girl.
