Starting a new life

Your pov ~ ~ ~ ~

As the guards showed us the path down the wall I noticed many other soldiers saluting me with shocked faces and fear stricken eyes.

"(Y/n)? Where are we going?" Shippo asked, he looked slightly scared of my burns but other than that, he was his normal questioning self.

"Well, I will have to find us a place to live. But other than that, just try to make it through this place" I said with no emotion. The children looked at me, their eyes full of concern, and curiosity.

Traveling down the wall with a path was a hell of a lot easier than the way I was trying. Well I guess when you try using daggers like a mountain then it will be harder.

"Ma'am, how did you survive that titan" the soldier guiding us asked, his uniform showed the emblem of the inner wall police, the cowards!

"Well since you won't be fighting them, I wouldn't worry about it" I said smugly and walked onto the earth with the children following behind me copying my movement and smirking back at him. Our feet echoed against the stone streets of the inner wall, finally, they could live in peace.

"We're here, let's go" I said smiling lightly. The girls squealed and the boys shouted. All of this commotion, even the baby laughed.

"This is gonna be so cool!" Obi yelled punching the air. I laughed and knelt to them.

"I'm going to protect you, I promise. So let's go!" I yelled, the kids immediately ran with me to the country side of town.

"(Y/n), we've been going for so long. Are we there yet?" Zen asked me, he's right, we've been going for a long time. The country was the best place so the kids wouldn't have to deal with other people complaining about the population and the soldier being assholes. But I expected to at least see a run down hut or something in these woods.

"What's that (y/n)?" Cana asked pointing to a clearing with a barn like building. Finally!

"That's perfect! Good job Cana!" I said picking her up and putting her on my shoulders. Cana laughed.

"Forward to home!" She yelled and we all ran to the building. Pushing the doors in I saw the building was sound, the only problem was the amount of dust and small holes left by bugs. Not to mention the rotting hay, gross!

"(Y/n), I like this, please, we can clean it!" Sarah wined.

"Don't worry, I hadn't planned on leaving this place" I said with a smile as we got to work

We finished just before nightfall, and I have to say, we did a really good job. Unfortunately, the only place we could find to set up beds was a loft that stretched halfway through the barn, overlooking everything. 

"Time to sleep" I yelled as all the kids stopped what they were doing and surrounded me. I walked over to the girls and handed them the night cloths we saved from the house.

"Go up and change" I whispered. They scurried up the ladder and changed. The boys changed down here as I turned my back to them and changed the baby. Todo laughed and rolled all around,

"How old is he" I asked

"Well, I think he's 13 months" Zen said watching me change Todo. Since I've met these kids Todo hasn't said anything or tried to walk. He has always just stayed still and copied whatever the children did.

"Alright, everyone to bed" I said getting out of my train of thought. Following the kids up the ladder we got into bed.

"(Y/n), can we sleep next to you?" Sarah and kelly asked. Obi, Shippo and Zen looked at me with hopeful eyes.

"Um sure" I said laying down on the floor and letting the children get confortible using my body as a pillow and cuddling for warmth. I had a child on every inch of my body and Todo sleeping on my chest. I have to admit, it felt like we were a real family, I loved it. Slowly I drifted into sleep along with the kids I loved so much.
