Caesar didn't know what to say, or what to do. He just froze, locker door still in his hand. He didn't even wan to look at her. She felt the same way, but only because she thought that it was him that did this. He tried to talk, but it wouldn't come out right. "I-I um.. I s-saw someone h-here.. I came up to it and they were gone." Rain couldn't tell if his face was red, or if it was pale. She walked up to her locker, and froze. In her locker, there was a note... "You may not know it, Rain, but I'm always leaving marks on you. I'll see you later tonight." She didn't know what to do, and Caesar was still frozen. "R-Rain.. Are you ok? What's wrong?" She shoved the note into her pocket and turned around to face him, "I'm fine. Sorry for thinking that you did this. It didn't occur to me that you're too weak and soft to do anything like this." She smiled and playfully punched his arm, even though he knew she was joking he couldn't help but feel hurt by it. He chuckled lightly, "Yea. I need to go to the gym, huh?" Rain could tell that something was wrong, but she didn't want to stick around to find out what, she didn't know if that person, or thing, was still around. "Hey, um, Caesar.. How about we hang out tonight? Like old times, yea?" With that, she left him standing there, and took off down the hall.
Later that night Caesar was getting ready for their "date" and couldn't help but think about what happened  earlier that day. What was she not telling him? Why would she even hide anything from him? They told each other everything, so why stop now? He could feel his heart breaking as he thought of what it could be, she doesn't want him around anymore.. Rain and Caesar have been best friends for years, she was there for him when nobody else was, and vice versa. His heart started to pound when he heard the doorbell downstairs. He grabbed his jacket, keys, and stuffed his phone into his pocket, almost falling down the stairs and opened the door to reveal Rain. "Hey Rain! You look amazing.. Not that you looked bad earlier but um.. You just.. " Rain cut him off before he could keep embarrassing himself, which he was grateful for, "Caesar, I need to tell you something... I don't know how you will react to it though.." He could feel everything he ever did wrong hit him like a wave, he was sure she could see it, but she didn't. He took a few steps back, letting her in and closing the door, "Um, yea? Okay, you know you can tell me anything Rain," he gently grabbed her hand, "and I do mean anything."
After Rain explained everything, they were sitting on the couch, on opposite sides. Caesar was facing the T.V., head in his hands, silent. "Caesar? Please tell me I'm not going crazy.." Her voice trailed off as a single tear ran down her face. Just as he opened his mouth, the power went off, and all that could be heard, was a faint whisper, then a scream.
