The lost black

New life

As Jane Potter I was the "cousin" of James Potter and I lived with Harry my "nephew". I worked for the factory and made little money. It was enough to make a life for him. No one knew that I was Jane Black the twin of Sirius Black. I had hide everything magical from Harry I even lied about his parents death. I made sure that I would always tell him that his mother and father loved him though.

Whenever the letter came I had wished to hide it to make it where Harry would never know of Magic or or the monster that had took his parents from him. It was long before Hagrid came and I knew that I had to tell him the truth. I told him how I wasn't his fathers cousin and how I betrayed the man who killed his parents. I then told him who I really was and that me could never tell anyone not even his closest of friends.

I had him go to get his stuff with Hagrid and then I drove him the the platform where we ran into the Weasleys and Harry became friends with the youngest, I think his name is Ron. When he got on he waved good bye to me and then the train was gone. I walked to my car and left for home, on the way home I keep wondering what I would do with out Harry. He was my world and I loved him to much to lose.

I walked into the house and felt like I wasn't alone so I grabbed my wand and went to the living room. Seating in a chair near the fire place was non other than Albus Dumbledore.

"Albus it has been a while." I said walking over to him.

"Yes and you haven't aged a day my dear."

"Why are you here and not at the school?" I asked handing him a cup of tea

"Thank you and I came to warn you that I believe you know who is trying to return."

I chocked on my tea "How he has been gone for ten years why return now...... Harry"

He nodded his head and seat beside me. "We have both known that he would return" he said grabbing my hand

"He will have to kill me before I let him hurt Harry" I say standing up.

"I know and that is why you and Lily where friends you would die for your family." He said and then he left

I cried when I knew I was alone. I spent that year going to work and coming home and looking at the album with pictures of our school year, mine and my brothers. There was a picture of my younger brother ,Regulus, and I couldn't help but cry, he was my reason for betraying the Dark lord.

That winter Harry and the Weasleys came to my home for Christmas and I was happy to get to spend it with them. Their mother sent us all sweaters in the mail and I sent them home made rings with their family crest on it. I gave the boys home made rings with their house crest on it. It made me happy to see their smiles about getting a gift.

At the end of the year I was sent a letter that Harry and his friends had got hurt by a professor at Hogwarts. I then traveled to the school as fast as possible and the moment I made it there I ran to the nurses wing and when I saw Harry I was able to breathe again. I ran over to him and hugged him.

"Are you okay sweetheart?" I asked hugging him

"I'm okay" Harry said hugging me back

Albus left and gave us some space. Harry told me what had happen and how the Dark lord possessed a professor at Hogwarts. It wasn't long before Professor Mcgonagall, Harry's friends and Hagrid came into the room.

"Harry how are you and it's good to see you Jane." Professor Mcgonagall said smiling at me

"I didn't tell her" Hagrid said

"I did. Now how about I introduce you all. Children meet the late Jane Black or as she goes by now Jane Potter." Albus said coming into the room.

"How I thought she was killed by you know who?"  The girl ,Hermione, asked

"I faked my death so I could hide from the dark lord and protect Harry."  I said laying my hand on Harry's shoulder

"I hope you all understand no one outside of this room may know about Jane being alive if they did she should surely be harmed." Albus said.

It wasn't long after that they all left the room and everyone left on the train. I stayed at Hogwarts to speak to Albus about Harry. After a hour I got up to leave.

"You should speak to him." Albus said as I made t to the door.

"I know but what if he doesn't wish to speak to me?"  I said leaving.

I left Hogwarts and went to my home and got into my car to pick Harry up. He got in the car and we then left and went home after he told me about the train ride home. When we made it home Harry asked me how I meet his mother and I told him I meet her on the train.
