Bi-liner

Jess, I swear to god, you better not die in that jail. I think to myself.

"Hey Liner?" Shy Guy says to me, "we are gonna get her back. Jess isn't dying and you know it." He always knows what people are thinking.

"How do you do that?" I ask.

He furrows his eyebrows and tilts his head, "Do what?"

"Know what everyone is thinking, and then bring it up casually."

"Oh, well, estimated guess? I mean, your best friend just got taken, and Jess was acting the same way when you 'died', so I guess you were just thinking about her and I was just gonna reassure you." He explained.

He turned around and faced he front of the car. I grab the radio and spoke.

"Okay," I breathe out, "I know that you dracs are listening to our conversations because you have Jess' bike, but who cares, tell us who the new boss is, and we'll leave you alone."

"Didn't Korse kill you, Liner?" A drac came over or the radio.

"Oh sorry, surprise I'm not dead, now who's your boss?" Bandit stopped the car and looked at me like I was the craziest person she's met, which I sort of am.

"You're talking to him." Shit.

"Guys what do I say?" I ask Bandit and SG.

"Keep him talking." Bandit instructs.

"Who are you?"

"Bob Bryar." Bandit gasps and her face freezes.

"Who is that?!" I ask her.

"Our dads' old friend. He was a killjoy, then he went dark side and no one had heard of him, till now at least."

"Oh, and Bandit, I have your dad too." He said something else, but the radio had cut out.

"Okay, what was that guys?" Roadie and Madness came to the sides of the car.

"Liner had to keep him talking, I tracked where Jess' bike is and now we can go rescue them all!" Shy Guy said excitedly, I had just noticed the computer he had resting on his lap.

"Did you always have that computer? Or was that Ferretts job?" I ask while Bandit talks to Roadie and Madness.

"No, he just sat here actually, I sat in the back and did stuff whenever we stopped. I learned a little bit about computers in middle school, me and Madness grew up in Battery City, then our parents were taken by a couple Dracs and we came out here and met Dr. Death. No one remembers the sweet children Destiny and Josh, and if they did, they are probably dead now." He started typing on his computer.

Roadie and Madness climbed through the windows of the car and I could feel their leather jackets on my shoulders. I had my jacket sitting in my lap, so my shoulders were bare.

"What about the bikes?" Madness asks.

"Leave them, I have a feeling we won't be using them anymore." Bandit said and hit the gas.
