"So, that detective was really pretty, huh?" Briona said to me as we walked through the boutique. I smiled slightly as I thought of detective Perez, as I had many times during the few days after she came into Genetics Unlimited. Normally I don't really pay any notice to people's looks but something about her stood out to me.

"Yeah, she was. Gorgeous, actually." I answered. Briona raised an eyebrow before looking away and smiling slyly. I blushed and then shook my head. "Leave me alone. Besides, she wasn't there for me to check out, she was doing her job."

Briona sombered a bit as she remembered what was going on in the real world. "You're right. God, it's so sad, you know? Waxworth was a good guy. I mean, we didn't see him often but he ran a good company and all of us were taken care of."

I nodded and flipped through a few shirts hanging up on a bar in the back of the store.

I pulled out a black, v-neck long sleeved shirt and lied it across my arm along with the other things I picked up. After trying on everything, Briona and I went and payed for our things.

We decided to grab lunch at the food court in the mall. Grabbing our food, we sat down at a table and talked comfortably about this and that. We were almost finished eating when Briona asked me "So, when is Isidore coming back to work?" I put the last bite of salad into my mouth before answering.

"His vacation is up tomorrow so he should be in then. Knowing him though, I wouldn't be surprised if he just didn't show up." She chuckled and agreed with me. We hugged and separated in the parking lot before heading home.

Sundays were the days I cleaned, so once I got all my new purchases put away, I threw on some sweatpants, put my hair in a ponytail, hooked my phone up to my speakers, and set about cleaning my apartment. The voice of David Bowie flooded the tiny space and I hummed along as I worked. I was in the middle of cleaning up the kitchen when my cell phone began to ring. Running out to the livingroom, I answered.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Ms. Williams, this is detective Perez."

I smiled and answered "Hello detective. How are you?"

"I'm well, thanks. I was just calling to see if I could ask you a few more questions, or one really, if you don't mind."

"Of course. What is it?"

"Well, would you happen to know where Isidore McAllister would be? I went to his house to see if I could interview him and no one was there."

"Strange. Maybe he went out for the day? I mean, it is his last day of vacation, and it is pretty beautiful out."

"I thought of that too, but they said they haven't seen him in three days. I was just wondering if he mentioned where he might be going when he said he was taking his vacation? Did he hint at anything maybe?"

"Hmm...not that I can think of. He really just stormed out of the office and sent me the email. I can forward it to you, if you'd like?"

"I would appreciate that, thank you. You still have my email?"

"I do."

"Well, you can keep this number too, in case you remember anything. It is my personal number."

I blushed slightly as I answered. "Alright, sounds good detective."

"Please, call me Valentia."

I grinned. "Well then, please call me Rayne."

Valentia chuckled before thanking me once more and ending the call. I stood in the middle of my livingroom grinning like a fool before I went back to the kitchen to finish cleaning.
