Dan could feel his heart flutter with excitement as Phil walked toward him. The small brunette male quickly grew attached to the dark haired man from the moment they met. Loving when he was around. Feeling a longing to have him around constantly. Dan had seen him everyday this week and he loved it. He loved every minute he spent with Phil.

"Hey, Bud. What's up?" Phil said with a smile on his lips. Sitting across from his tiny new best friend. Passing the muffin he bought for the boy towards him as he settled into the large booth.

"Nothing really. I got an A on my business class paper!" Dan said excitedly as he bit into the muffin. Food overflowing in his mouth. Small amounts of crumbs falling about.

"Good job, love." He the bigger male praised. "Don't talk with your mouth full though." Phil added kindly. Grinning at the happy boy. Causing Dan to blush slightly and nod. He could feel his heart doing the fluttery stuff again. Gosh did he love having Phil around. He made him feel so small. Dan liked feeling small. Especially when he was around Phil.

"How was your day, Philly?" Dan asked once the muffin that previously took place in his mouth was chewed and swallowed. Respecting Phil's request because Dan was a good boy. He was always good boy. Even more so around Phil. He never wanted to make a bad impression no matter how much time he spent with his friend.

"You wanna go do something?" The tattooed male asked randomly. Disregarding his friends question. Not even hearing the words the boy had said. Dan didn't mind though.

"Like what?" He asked with child like curiosity. It made Phil's heart beat just a bit faster. He was glad only he could feel it. He wouldn't want to give Dan the wrong impression.

"I don't know, but I know i'd rather not sit inside this crumby cafe all day when it's so nice outside." The bright eyed male said. His eyes following the clouds as they slowly traveled across the sky. Making note to remember the shapes they made. Not one being the same as the other.

"Oh. Well do you have anything in mind?"

Phil decided he wanted to take Dan cloud gazing. It was absolutely perfect!

"Lets go look at the clouds!"

"Okay!" Dan said happily as he shoveled the rest of the muffin in his mouth. Standing up happily as he rushed out of the cafe. Too impatient to wait for his friend.

Phil felt his heart quicken even more. Maybe he was falling for Dan. Or maybe just even the thought of him. Whichever it was Phil just knew he liked having the boy around. That's all that mattered, right?

The pair sat in the empty field. Side by side. Arms just barely touching as they laid across the blanket Phil set out for them. Taking in the fresh air and silence around them. The only things that could be heard was the occasional sigh and noises of content.

"That one looks like a bunny." Dan giggled. Pointing at the rabbit shaped cloud above him.

"I think it looks like a dog." Phil said, chuckling at the small brunette.

"You're mad! It's obviously a bunny." Dan argued with a smile on his face. Eyes staying focused on the rabbit cloud. Dan liked moments like this. Dan liked it here. With Phil.

"Whatever you say, Little Prince." Phil joked. Poking Dan's sensitive side. Liking the sound of the other boys giggle. It never failed to make him smile. Never failed to make his heart skip beats either.

With that the pair continued on in silence. Just soaking up the company of one another. Both wishing things could stay like this forever.

Little did they know what the future held for them both.
