EEEEEEEE! My favourite character!!! sorry, he's just amazing.
The rest of the seven swapping genders, cool! Being called for a meeting at six in the morning, Awesome! But a mist man turning Jason into mist and launching him up to deal with the god's anger. Not cool. Not cool at all. Leo took in what was around him. There was allot of worried glances.
Percy had started up a conversation with a laughing calypso about why he didn't choose to be a girl. "I can't believe I ever thought you were hot!" "Hey! I don't want to be this way!" and Chiron was having a serious conversation with Annabeth. Now that Annabeth was a boy she scared him even more, she was scary as a girl but sheesh, now she was nightmare with those sharp glares she always sent him. It made Leo feel very self-conscious and made him think he was in serious trouble.
"Everybody quieten down!" Chiron yelled. "me and Annabeth have come up with a plan. Leo and calypso, you two will fly on Festus up to Mount Olympus to help Jason. Festus roared in approval outside. The rest of you, you are going to the entrance to the underworld."
"you mean the one me and Annabeth went to when we were twelve?" Percy broke in "Yes, that one" Chiron replied. "Now, let's get ready." "wait!" Calypso stepped in. She was wearing jeans and a white t-shirt today. She looked really pretty in them. Leo was snapped back into reality when Calypso said his name. "Leo and I need another person to go with, Isn't three the best number for a quest?" "I'll go." Annabeth said.
"Perhaps I can talk some sense into the gods, being a child of Athena." Calypso didn't look that happy about it, Leo figured she still had a grudge with Annabeth for becoming a couple with Percy. Leo thought she was going to say it but instead with a voice full of regret calypso admitted "Unfortunately, you're our best choice."
Apparently It takes a little while to get ready when all your friends are trying not to be seen by anybody else. Enough time that Leo wired up and brought out some Archimedes spheres for everybody that had really cool features like instant darkness, ejecting grenades that you can use and turning into a magic backpack that looks tiny but can fit a full-grown man in it.
The backpack also feels as if it's empty even if there is a person in it. Leo was showing Annabeth and Calypso how to get strapped onto the dragon when Will Solace ran over, which was not part of the plan. Annabeth crouched down and Leo stood in front of her to block her from Wills view. Calypso wasn't far behind.
"hi guys!" Will said, Panting, "What's behind you?" Will frowned and using an amount of force that shouldn't have been possible for a healer, pushed Leo and Calypso apart. "Who are..." Will started then gasped "Annabeth! What happened?!?" "Long story" Leo said stepping once again in front of Annabeth. "Where are you guys heading to?" Will asked, still sounding quite shocked.
"Nowhere." Annabeth said standing. Calypso looked as if she was going to tell Annabeth to crouch back down but Annabeth replied with "He's seen me now, it's no use crouching." Will studied Leo's face. "You're going to Olympus, aren't you?" how could he guess so accurately? Leo wondered "no" he replied but he knew Will could tell he was lying.
"Let me come with you!" Will said "I haven't been on a quest in ages, and a medic would be extremely useful." "no" Annabeth said. "Besides, there's only enough room on the dragon for three people." Leo Tried to explain but Will broke in with "No there isn't." and "you showed me these spheres last week, remember?"
Will walked over to one of the spheres and pressed a button. The sphere was now no longer a sphere but a backpack. Will unzipped the bag and stepped in. "bye peeps!" Will said cheerfully as he zipped it up above his head. "Won't he suffocate?" Calypso asked, "nah, there are ventilation holes in it, and don't ask if we can unzip it from the outside, because he knows how to lock the zip until he wants to get out." Leo replied. "Well, I guess were taking a Will along with us."
Leo felt cold with the air being pushed against his face but it was countered by the dragon's warm back. Leo didn't even need to steer Festus. He simply said "Take us to the empire state building" and Festus took off. While flying Leo had time to think. Leo and Calypso had just become a couple and Leo was afraid he would break their relationship by saying something wrong or doing a really bad joke.
Calypso was so laidback, so comfortable, Leo wondered how she did it, with him worrying about tripping up and making her angry. Once, Leo's father, Hephaestus, had said that he wasn't good with people, or organic life forms really. At the time Leo had felt the same, he couldn't understand people, especially if they got hurt. Leo could fix a machine no problem, but people, Leo didn't understand what made them tick.
He felt useless, sitting back and watching other people do the healing. Especially when Jason had been impaled all the way through by an imperial gold sword. When piper was fixing him he felt unneeded, unwanted, even.
The city stopped rushing by in a blur and Festus landed right outside the entrance to the empire state building. The three demigods hopped off his back and he flew away into the blue. Leo sat the backpack down and Will hopped out of it, grinning. Grinning, until he started to sink into the seemingly stable concrete. Leo looked down and he was as well.
Everyone was sinking. Everyone was sinking, fast. "Ahhh!" Leo exclaimed as he sunk straight down. He was now up to his waist in concrete. Now his chest. His neck. His Mouth. Leo took a gigantic breath of air and wondered why nothing could be simple as a demigod, when his head went under.
Leo was still sinking he knew that, but he was worried if they would be sinking forever of if they were going somewhere in particular. He was worried, because, he was running out of air, fast. Leo's throat was burning. His lungs felt as if they were about to burst. Leo felt nauseous from the lack of air. Just as Leo decided that he would give up and die stupidly from suffocation, a hole opened up at his feet and he fell through it, coughing and gasping for air. Judging by the three thunks beside him, the others were the same as him.
Leo lit his hand on fire and it illuminated the room they were in. no. not a room. a corridor. Something about the corridor bothered him. It was as if he had been here before, but Leo was sure he hadn't. Like the crack of a whip, the memory came back to him. He had been here before. He and Hazel in fact. If they were where Leo thought, they were they were in serious danger. Leo was certain they were in the Labyrinth.
