Valentine's Day o Araw ng mga Puso kung tawagin nila sa tagalog.

Many people are having misconceptions about the real essence of Valentine's Day.

Para saan nga ba at may Valentine's Day?

Para kanino nga ba ang araw na to?

In my opinion, Valentine's Day is not just spending this special day with someone you see as a partner in life. For me, it is showing the people in your life that you love them. No, maybe its not just for that one special day. I do believe that you can show your love to other people even in an ordinary day. Let us not wait for Valentine's Day to show our love. Instead, make Valentine's Day an example on how we can love everyday.

Minsan naisip ko, bakit nga ba may Valentines Day? Hindi ba celebration yun ng tinatawag nila na St. Valentine? Yun din ba ang araw na pinapakita mo sa mga taong mahal mo sila? Yung tipong magbibigay ka ng token to show that you love them?

For me, the real essense of Valentine's Day is showing people you love them. Giving them a simple card or a token is enough. Kahit small actions lang, pwede na. Para kasi sakin, hindi lang naman pwede gawin yun sa araw lang na yun. Pwede naman natin gawin ang ganitong mga bagay anytime. Siguro kaya lang may araw para dito ay para mas maging special ang pagbibigay ng regalo sa mga minamahal natin o para ipakita sa kanila na mahal natin sila.

In my observation, people are forgetting what this special day is all about. Iniisip nila na ang Valentine's Day ay para lang sa mga taken o may mga boyfriend at nahanap na ang other half na tinatawag nila.

Minsan din kasi, ang naiisip ng tao ay dapat in a relationship ka sa araw na to at ipakita sa taong yun na mahal mo siya but that's now what I believe the spirit of Valentines to be.

Paano naman ang mga single? Hindi na ba sila nagcecelebrate? Ordinary day na lang ba ito para sa kanila?

No, I dont think so. Pwede ka naman magcelebrate ng Valentine's Day kasama ang mga mahal mo sa buhay. Show them how you really appreciate them. At least, for this one special day, everyone will feel loved.

Ang Valentine's Day naman kasi ay araw ng mga puso at hindi araw ng paglalandian, hindi ba?

Although masarap nga naman sa feeling na alam mong may boyfriend, girlfriend o asawa ka na nandyan para sorpresahin at regaluhan ka sa araw na to, sana hindi natin kalimutan na may mga tao na nagmamahal satin at nagpapahalaga satin kagaya ng mga boyfriend, girlfriend o asawa. Hindi lang sila ang kaya magbigay nun. Nandyan ang pamilya at ang mga kaibigan natin. Hindi naman kasi talaga maiiwasan ang mainggit sa iba.

Ang daming bitter. Yes, bitter ang term ng iba. Lalo na at mag-isa lang sila ngayong araw na to. Bitter sila sa espesyal na araw na to. Bakit? Kasi iniisip nila na wala silang kasama para magcelebrate ng araw na to.

Is Valentine's Day only for those with a relationship status? No, it is not. It is for everyone.  Mapa-babae o lalaki, bata o matanda, single man o taken, lahat ay pwedeng magcelebrate nito.

Sana ay hindi tayo maging bitter. I, myself, is single but I'm happy even on this special occassion. Naniniwala naman kasi ako na hindi lang sa boyfriend, girlfriend o asawa nakukuha ang kasiyahan at pagmamahal na yun. Nakukuha din ito sa pamilya, kaibigan at iba pang mahal sa buhay.

I wish that others will feel the same.

Oo, iba nga naman kasi ang feeling kapag may espesyal na tao kang kasama sa araw na to pero hindi tayo dapat malungkot. Ang isipin na lang natin, madami ding nagmamahal satin. Hindi man tayo taken this Valentine's Day, don't worry because someday, mararanasan mo din yun. Hindi dapat yan minamadali. Kanya kanyang oras lang yan :)

Everybody loves to be loved. Love is all around us. It is always present. Ano naman ngayon kung single ka? You can still make this day memorable. Go out with your friends, have dinner with your family or spend time alone doing what you love to do. Take this opportunity to thank each and everyone who came to your life and show them you love them. Believe me, masarap siya sa pakiramdam.

In the end, iba iba pa din ng opinions and interpretations ng mga tao sa araw na to. But no matter what it is, I respect it. Kanya kanya lang naman tayo ng pananaw sa mga bagay bagay.

Today is a day to celebrate love so let us love people. Forget all the hatreds and start forgiving and loving.
