"Why did you look away Mello? And why are your cheeks red?" Near looked at Mello and tilted his head.
"Because your u-ugly that's why" Mello stayed looking the other way.
''Wait, you blushed, didn't you'' Near said smiling.
''N-no! I didn't!'' Mello shouted and stood up.
"Did" Near said smirking.
Mello walked to the bottom of the stairs and shouted "didn't!" Then he shot upstairs and into his room. Near wasn't at all surprised, he knew that Mello would give up and run to his room. Near stood up and walked upstairs to his room.
"Keep, Matt I think it would be a good idea to sleep now, it is quite late" he said before walking into his room.
"Ok Near!" Keep and Matt shouted back in sync. Near closed his bedroom door and sat on his computer finding out as much information about Kira as he could.
~~~time skip to late at night~~~
Near closed his laptop and lay on his bed. Before closing his eyes he looked around his room then fell asleep.
Near tossed and turned, the nightmare terrifying him. He moved around hugging his pillow and bed covers. Finally near shot up and started crying silently. He looked around his room terrified, he continued to weep until his bedroom door opened slowly.
"Near? Are you ok?" Said a familiar voice.
"m-Mello?" Near said sniffing
''What's the matter?" Mello walked over and sat on his bed. "A nightmare?" He asked.
''Y-yeah" near nodded and hugged his pillow tighter.
"It'll be alright, try to go back to sleep" Mello said before standing up and getting ready to leave.
"No! Please stay, I'm scared..." Near said looking down terrified and surprised at himself for admitting it.
Mello huffed and looked at Near "fine I'll stay" Mello sat back on nears bed.
"Cuddle? Please I'm scared" Near asked, again shocked at what he was saying.
Mello looked at Near and lay next to him, Mello wrapped his arms around Near and pulled him closer. "Happy?"
"Thanks Mello." Near said before drifting off to sleep.
~~Mello's Pov~~
Near woke me up with his crying. I wonder what scared him? He never gets scared by a dream. Does he even dream? Who cares? I gotta stay here now... actually this is quite comfortable I could...get used to this.
After a while Mello falls asleep. He pulls Near closer to him, holding him in his arms proactively not letting go.
