A/N: Amethyst's Point Of View!
------------
"Here she is." Pat said laying my now 8 pound daughter in my arms. I smiled down at her smile features the curls of her dark brown hair, her ivory skin, and her tiny hands and feet. She was perfect in every way and I just wanted her to come home so bad, it hurt.
"When can she come home?" I asked for the millionth and first time.
"When she takes a full bottle and breathes fully on her own, her little lungs are still growing, and right now they can't support her alone. Let's give her one more week, by then Kellin's baby should be here, right?" The red haired man asked smoothly changing the subject as I removed part of my blue smock to allow River to eat once she was latched I turned my attention back to Patrick who was across the NICU with another baby.
"Yeah, Kellin wants you to deliver them. He also wants he or she out very badly, he's huge now, eight and a half months and all baby." I explained the image of my black haired best friend in an XL tee shirt crying over puppy ads in my head.
"I'd be happy to deliver the baby. Who's gonna be in the room, the baby's father or?" He trailed off implying Vic or myself.
"Oli is a piece. He hasn't done anything for the baby ever, but Vic is great! They're about to hit their four months anniversary and Vic has hardcore baby fever. He treats Kellin like a king and even helped him pick a name out for a little girl." I rambled just as River finished suckling, she gave out a yawn and closed her little eyes. I moved her back to her "oven", aka incubator and re covered myself, Pat cautiously made his way over to me and sat on one of the many rocking chairs.
"That's good, Vic deserves to be happy, I mean with what happened to his first daughter." The ginger said leaning back in his chair coolly.
"What do you mean?" I asked my interest piqued by Patrick's peculiar phrasing, I found myself leaning closer to the man with eyes wide and ears (to see) pointed.
"Vic was married before, I think you know that, he and his husband decided to start a family. His ex had the ability to care a child but struggled to support the fetus for very long, after a lot of trying. More then fifteen fertilization he got pregnant, made it into his third trimester without any complications and then he started bleeding. He and Vic rushed to the hospital, we were barely able to save the mother, sadly the baby died." He stopped to study my face which was twisted into a horrible frown.
"Vic's husband opted to bury their daughter, I think this was the rift in their relationship, he forced Vic to move to the city and they pretty much stopped trying to have a baby. Vic is a pediatrician and absolutely loves kids, I think after his daughter died he replaced Jaime with his work. Jamie replaced Vic with other men and eventually left Vic, they got divorce a week before River was born, I only know that because Vic started working here rather then the private clinic in Medford." Patrick's words hit me like a brick trunk and I wonder if Kellin knew and what that meant for their relationship.
