Exiting the elevator, I open my bedroom door, and walk into the sitting area. Closing, and locking the door behind me, I walk to my closet as I unzip my dress, and let it fall to the ground.

Taking off my shoes and jewelry, I grab a pair of leggings, a bralette, a big sweater, and some fuzzy socks. Going into the bathroom I wash the makeup off my face and un-pin my hair and let it down my back.

Stepping into the shower, I wash my hair and body, shave the necessary areas, and turn off the water. Drying myself with a towel, I think of when I met my farfar for the first time.

*Flash back*

It was a couple of weeks after my 16th birthday, and I was cleaning the kitchen from the mess Marie made when getting a sandwich.

Hearing the front door open, I turn to see my father walking towards my mother's bedroom. He looked worried, and was sweating at his temples. I thought it was weird that he was home in the middle of the day.

Going back to doing the dishes, I hear the slightly muffled words

"They found us."

"What do you mean they found us Daniel?" my mother asked confused and slightly annoyed.

Walking closer to my mother's room I hear "The Garnier's have found us Maria, they know about sang!" my father whispered loudly.

"Ha! It's about time! You're finally going to pay for your action huh? How did they find you?" my mother snorted

"I don't know, but they are going to take Sang, and I am going to go to jail!" he bellowed

"What does that have to do with me and my daughter? We are just innocent bystanders in your crimes." mother said with a fake innocent tone that made me shudder to my soul. That woman isn't innocent. Not after everything she has done.

"Really Maria? Beating that girl almost every day to the inch of her life? You innocent? You would be in a prison long before your sickness killed you" father snorted in disbelief

"Sang knows better than to say anything about my daughter and me. She is going to keep that whorish mouth of her shut if she knows any better." my mother said indignantly

"They are going to see the scars, and bruises on her skin when they pick her up! Face it you're going to be stuck in a state penitentiary for the rest of your life, just like I am!" my father bellowed

Running to my room, I grab the pin and unlock my door. Going to my bed I start to think about what my father was saying. Jail? Why would he go to jail? I know why my mother would. Mother's don't punish their children the way I have been.

Who were the Garnier's? Why are they going to take me away from my family? Are they going to hurt me like my mother, or ignore me like my father?

"SANG! GET YOUR LAZY ASS DOWN HERE NOW!!" I jolted, and hit my elbow on the wall as my mother's screeching voice carried up the stairs.
