ryan sat in the uncomfortable chair that sported the yellow painted room of his therapist's office.
despite the bright colors the room made him dark. black, maybe.
"ryan?" dr. lucian looked up from her clipboard.
"yes, ma'am?" ryan continued to look down at his folded hands in his lap.
"how has the 'problem' been? have you talked to your mother about it?"
"no ma'am, i haven't," his breathe hitched suddenly "it's been ok," he lied with out emotion.
"ryan you need to talk to your mother about this. it's not healthy," her voice rose suddently.
ryan found him self soon starting to suffocate in the oddly yellow room. blackness started to take over and he found it hard to breathe.
"i'm-i'm sorry ma'am," he choked out.
dr. lucian clicked her pen and sighed. "well ryan it's time to go. i have another young boy coming in after you. he's a nice young man. his name is brendon. reminds me of you. maybe i'll set you guys up for a meeting." she smiled.
"thank you, ma'am. goodbye." he said heading over to the door that lead to the green lobby that smelled like cigarettes with a slight stench of coffee.
"goodbye ryan," dr. lucian called. "remember to eat. and not do anything with it once it's inside you." she said as the door closed behind him. those words gave him chills. when he walked in to the lobby he saw a boy in a pastel blue sweatshirt and brown hair.
"brendon?" a lady behind the desk called. the boy stood up. he looked pink and light green and made ryan smile a little bit. he rarely did that.
After brendon disappeared into the suffocating yellow room, ryan turned to find his mothers car outside the small one story building that he went to to talk about his problems with dr. lucian.
he climbed into his mothers car silently. he didn't bother to start a conversation. his mother didn't fancy talking either. ever since he's been diagnosed with an eating disorder his mother hasn't spoke to him as much as she used to. instead she started out the windshield with her small hands gripped tightly to the steering wheel. her eyes were bloodshot and ryan was light blue. he turned his vision out to the window where the colors of sunday morning played before his eyes.
