falling on someone and sucking their face off isn't an accident

19th of March. 2017.

The room was dark but I could faintly make out the figure who had pulled me inside.

I did not bother to scream.

"You asked my brother and my ex-girlfriend to hang out with you," Blake stated in an eerily quiet fashion, much unlike his texts beforehand.

Instead of answering him, I chose an empty spot on the wall and slumped down against it, starting to eat my pizza.

"You were supposed to become her friend not go on a shopping trip with my freaking brother." He ground out, exasperated.

"Look, I am sorry. It all happened so fast." I took another bite of the pizza – it was the only comforting thing about this school. "She would have said no if I hadn't invited Michael."

"Why?" His dark figure sat down in front of me. "How could you know that?"

"Did you not see her expression? She wanted to claw my eyes out." I deadpanned.

He let out a grunt and ran a hand through his hair.

"You are going to get into her good graces. This weekend." I almost choked on my pizza. Mia Colton being in Tara Leighton's good graces.

"I am sorry to inform you that that is not possible. I am also afraid to tell yo that you have chosen the wrong person for this job."

Blake shifted closer and placed his hands on the side of my head. I did not have to see him to know that he probably had a murderous expression on his face.

"Do you not value your safety?" He grit out. "You have seen what has happened and you wish to subject yourself to the same fate?" His breath was warm on my face. I gulped.

"I really don't want to go through that, trust me. But also trust me when I say that Tara Leighton and I will never manage to be friends – there is too much history there. No matter how hard I try, she will never believe that I genuinely want to stay anywhere within a ten feet radius of her."

"I do not care what you history you have." Even in the darkness, I could feel his intense stare on me. "I will stop at nothing to find out why the hell she cheated on me and if that means that you have to follow her around for weeks, I do not care." I sighed.

"Is she really worth it? I mean, she cheated on you. I don't think there was a specific reason behind her cheating." He let out a heavy breath. "People do not think logically about cheating – they just do it."

"No." I sighed.

"Cheating is not an accident. Falling off a bike is an accident. Breaking a china plate is an accident. Falling on someone and sucking their face off isn't an accident." She could almost feel him glaring at her.

"It was worth a try." I sighed.

"She was my best friend. She cannot just cheat on me. Do you not understand?" His words turned into a shout before his voice finally cracked. "We were happy! She had no reason to cheat on me!"

My stomach churned as I thought about how much he must be hurting.

"Put out your hand," I instructed.

"No."

"Do you want my help or not?"

"Do you want to get tortured because trust me I have a shitload of vile things I can do to make your life hell."
