Dipper took a step forward. "Danny, we won't-"
"Stay away!" A wall of ice surrounded Danny. "Just leave me alone." He whimpered. A bright flash of light was seen from behind the ice, and he was gone.
"What happened?" Mabel walked forward, kicking the wall of ice and cracking it. "Woah. Did the kid do this?"
"I don't know." Dipper stated, watching Mabel continue to kick the wall of ice. She got through it, and a few seconds after, the ice shattered completely before their eyes.
Danny was gone completely.
"Mabel, we have to find him." Dipper said, earning a slow nod from his twin.
They exited the cave. "Dipper?" Mabel asked.
"Yeah?" Dipper turned.
"Would it be better to get a place that we can get a good look?" Mabel paused and looked around. "How about the top of the rocks, above the cave's entrance?"
Dipper nodded and grabbed two rocks, tossing one to Mabel. "We may need to find a way up. And, we can use these to help."
"Wow, bro-bro, what have we gotten into?"
*_*
Danny sat on top of the rocks, out of sight from anyone on the ground, watching the stars in his human form.
Silent tears fell down his face.
The rocks around him were all frozen solid, cold and quiet. No use to him.
He wanted to go home. To his parents and Jazz. He wanted to see his friends.
He reached his hand up to the night sky, as if he could grab the stars themselves.
He knew he couldn't go back, no matter what.

"Dipper! I did it!" Mabel slightly yelled at Dipper, grabbing his attention. "I found a way up." She motioned up the rocks, a small path that parts of the ice were broken apart to climb up.
Dipper nodded, beginning to climb, with Mabel in tow.
They reached the top to see Danny reaching up to the sky, bringing his hand down, and cupping his face in his hands.
"No." Mabel whispered.
"Mabel?" Dipper asked quietly. "Please don't-" Dipper was too late.
Mabel had ran up and hugged Danny.
Danny froze up. Moving his head up, he saw Mabel and freaked out, slipping and sliding to get away from her.
"Don't touch... Me?" Danny looked at Mabel and then his hands. "I-It stopped." He looked over at Dipper who was now standing by the girl and smiled. "It stopped!" He ran over to the two and just hugged them.
"Danny? What are you doing?" Dipper questioned.
"Oh, sorry." Danny let go, sitting down and motioning for the twins to sit down too. "I just- I don't know."
"It's fine!" Mabel giggled. "I'm Mabel, and I'm sure that you know this is my twin, Dipper!"
Danny nodded. "I'm Danny. Uhm, why are you guys even out here?"
"Dipper wanted me to meet you!" Mabel yelled, louder than she should've.
"No, actually, we got lost and you kinda know the way back so.. I guess maybe part of it was her to meet you."
Danny laughed. "That's absolutely fine. Heck, if you hadn't come, I would probably still be freezing this poor forest."
"So, I don't know, would it bad to ask you how you did all this?" Dipper sighed, hoping he could get an answer.
"Oh," Danny paused, lost in thought. "That's okay. It'd be nice to tell someone at least."
Mabel's eyes brightened. "Are you gonna tell a story to us?"
Danny smiled. "Well, it was about a year ago, not too long after my fourteenth birthday. My parents had been in the lab in our basement, working on a huge project. They invited us down to show us how it worked when they were done.
"It was a portal. They tried to power it up, but it just didn't turn on. All of their hard work wasted. They became depressed for a few days following.
"I told my friends about it, and one of them, Sam, pressured me to go see it. We went down and investigated it. Once again she pressured me to go inside and see it. I put a HAZMAT suit on, just in case, and went in. Unfortunately for me, they put the on/off buttons on the inside. I tripped on a cord, and accidentally turned it on, with me inside it.
"It shocked me, electrocuted me. My friends were scared to death." Dipper grimaced. "From that day on I have been half human half ghost, learning new powers, such as the cryokinesis you saw. I never told anyone, keeping it secret, except for my own friends and sister. Heck, I didn't even tell my parents.
"But, one day they found out. They attacked me. I narrowly escaped, with only a few injuries. And I've been out here ever since." Danny sighed. "Dipper was the one who found me." Running a hand through his hair, Danny asked, "What day is it?"
Mabel piped up. "Two day before Christmas. December 22nd!" She giggled, nudging Dipper.
"Oh, Christmas is on Saturday and-" Dipper was cut off by his twin.
"We're having a Christmas party! Would you like to come? I figured you could come since you don't really have anything to do then."
"Christmas hasn't always been my thing-" Danny stated.
"Please!"
"Fine.. Just please don't push me into anything.."
"Yes!" Mabel squealed. "This party is gonna be awesome!"
"Um Danny?" Dipper whispered.
"Yes?" Danny replied.
"Do you think we could get going now? It's getting pretty late, and-"
"I can fly you back."
"What?"
"I can fly you back."
"Really?"
"Yeah I'm half ghost." Danny transformed into Phantom.
"Woah!" Mabel squeaked. "What's that?!" She was pointing at the D on Danny's chest.
"My insignia. Now do we wanna get going or not?"
*_*
The twins were back at the Mystery Shack. Mabel was sitting on her bed, knitting a sweater, and Dipper was reading a page on ghosts in the journal.
Danny had flown them back, and he had left after a few goodbyes. And a Mabel saying that Dipper and her would come get him on Christmas Eve.
"Mabel, what kind of sweater is that?" Dipper looked at the sweater she was knitting.
"Oh, it's for Danny. It's gonna be whit and black, and there's gonna be a blue Christmas tree to match his eyes with his symbol on it. He's gonna love it."
Dipper laughed. Christmas was gonna be interesting.
