I exit the main hall and make my way towards the kitchen as it's lunch time and I'm hungry. One of the knights stop me and inform me that Nan has locked a Mabari hound in the larder and she's quite furious. She has requested that I come fetch my dog.
"Well I was headed that way anyways. How do they know it's Hellhound?" I asked.
"Nan presented me with this." The Knight replies.
He presents a piece of Hellhound's collar. I take it and make my way to the kitchen. However, I side track and search some of the rooms that have eluded my lockpicking skill. I find some decent leather armor, but nothing's better right now than my studded leather armor. I also carry a set of red steel daggers and an elven crafted longbow.
I also pay a visit to the library and pick up a few books for some light reading. I eventually make my way to the kitchen, where Nan is raging about the dog. I step, and being a skilled silver tongue, I manage to calm her down and get her to unlock the larder door.
I get inside and find Hellhound scratching away at a floor tile.
"Hey, what are you doing boy? You have Nan furious out there. If your trying to dig your way out of here, you'll be here a while." I say, petting Hellhound.
Just then Hellhound jerks his attention to the far right corner, and his hackles stand straight up. He lets out a low, deep growl and moves closer. I grab this hilts of my daggers just as giant rats come flooding into the room. Hellhound wastes no time attacking the rats. I, on the other hand, have to switch to my bow as my daggers don't have quite enough reach.
In a matter of minutes, the floor is littered with the bodies of the rats. Hellhound is scrambling around, picking them up and putting them into a pile. He then sits down and stares at them, as if expecting them to get up again. I get ready to leave the larder room, but Hellhound is too focused on the pile of rats. So I give a whistle and grab his attention.
We head and Nan is still furious about Hellhound getting into the larder. I inform her of the rat situation, she immediately shuts up and the servents flip out. Using my skill in persuasion, I calm the servents down and get them under control.
Nan starts to discipline Hellhound, which I step in almost immediately.
"Nan, if it weren't for him, you wouldn't have a larder to begin with. It was he who found the rats, and he's the one who made sure that there no more coming in. I'll get someone up here to fix the hole where they were coming in, ok?" I sternly interrupt.
Now that everything was taken care of I give Hellhound a steak and we carry on our search for my brother.
