Calvin keeps me behind him, not letting me even glimpse at Kelly, it's not like he can hide me. Kelly obviously saw me. But why is he here?
"M, get her out of here." Calvin whispers to Maria.
"No," she says. "I'm not leaving you here."
They're seriousness is beginning to scare me. Calvin's free hand that isn't wrapped around me keeping me behind him, is clenched in a fist and Maria is slightly twitching her fingers. What can Kelly do? We're in a crowded place full of doctors and other people who could easily call for help if something got out of hand. What's there to be nervous about?
Kelly walks over quickly and presses the knife against Maria's abdomen.
"Come with me." He growls quietly. He pushes Maria out of the door, and Calvin follows. He attempts to leave me behind but I well up with anger.
This guy killed my brother. He's going to pay one way or another.
I follow them outside. Kelly is pushing Maria and walking to the side of the building where we can be hidden from immediate sight from the hospital. He's probably trying to cover himself so no one can see what's about to happen, and that scares me.
"Kelly, let her go." Calvin says as Kelly shifts and puts the knife up to Maria's throat.
"I need to talk to her," Kelly says as he gestures to me.
I stay still, suddenly becoming paralyzed by fear. This guy killed my brother, just imagine what he would do to me.
"No way," Maria squeaks out.
Kelly throws Maria out of the way and charges towards Calvin. Calvin pushes me towards Maria. Kelly pins Calvin to the brick wall of the alley we are in.
"Dude, I don't want to hurt you, so don't make me." Kelly says as he moves closer to Calvin's face.
"Don't touch either of them." Calvin says as he pushes Kelly away from him.
"I need to explain. She doesn't know." Kelly says.
"She doesn't need to know. Leave." Calvin says.
Kelly pushes through Calvin and charges at me. I freeze with fear and anger.
"I'm not just the guy who killed your brother, I was his-" Kelly says, but Calvin grabs him by the shoulder and pulls him away from me.
And a fight starts.
Kelly punches Calvin in the face multiple times and blood starts to appear on Calvin's face. Maria jumps in and gets a few good hits on Kelly. She manages to strike him in the face and gut a few times. Maria kicks Kelly's feet out from under him and he falls down on the ground, but just as quickly as he falls he stands back up. Kelly punches Calvin a few more times, almost ignoring Maria in this situation.
I literally can't move. I'm frozen in my place, just watching this happen. My mind is completely blank and only filled with, mainly Calvin's, grunts. I focus my eyes back to the fight at possibly the worst time.
Kelly hits Calvin one more time and Calvin falls. And he doesn't get back up.
Kelly runs over to me and puts both of his hands on my shoulders roughly. His grip is tight and he's slightly shaking me.
"You can't trust them. Your brother wouldn't want you to." He says to me and he then runs away.
"Stay with him! I'm following Kelly." Maria yells as she points to Calvin and runs after Kelly.
I run over to Calvin and place my hand on his shoulder.
My brother wouldn't want me to trust Calvin and Maria? How would my brother even know about Calvin and Maria? How does Kelly even know what my brother would want? Kelly killed my brother, he doesn't know anything about me or him. These unanswerable questions run through my mind while I continue to shake Calvin.
