This is a very famous song, and for good reason. By MCR (or for ya idgits who don't know what that is, My Chemical Romance), this song is one literally everyone knows because it is hopeful and powerful and all around awesome.

Enjoy, ya idgits!

When I was a young boy,
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band.

He said, "Son when you grow up,
Would you be the savior of the broken,
The beaten and the damned?"
He said "Will you defeat them,
Your demons, and all the non-believers,
The plans that they have made?"
"Because one day I'll leave you,
A phantom to lead you in the summer,
To join The Black Parade."

When I was a young boy,
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band.
He said, "Son when you grow up,
Would you be the saviour of the broken,
The beaten and the damned?"

Sometimes I get the feeling she's watching over me.
And other times I feel like I should go.
And through it all, the rise and fall, the bodies in the streets.
And when you're gone we want you all to know.

We'll carry on,
We'll carry on

And though you're dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And in my heart I can't contain it
The anthem won't explain it.

A world that sends you reeling from decimated dreams
Your misery and hate will kill us all.
So paint it black and take it back
Let's shout it loud and clear
Defiant to the end we hear the call

To carry on
We'll carry on

And though you're dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're broken and defeated
Your weary widow marches

On and on we carry through the fears
Ooh oh ohhhh
Disappointed faces of your peers
Ooh oh ohhhh
Take a look at me cause I could not care at all

Do or die, you'll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Go and try, you'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part
I won't explain or say I'm sorry
I'm unashamed, I'm gonna show my scar
Give a cheer for all the broken
Listen here, because it's who we are
I'm just a man, I'm not a hero
Just a boy, who had to sing this song
I'm just a man, I'm not a hero
I
Don't
Care!

We'll carry on
We'll carry on

And though you're dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're broken and defeated
Your weary widow marches on

Do or die, you'll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Go and try, you'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part (We'll carry on)

Do or die, you'll never make me (We'll carry on)
Because the world will never take my heart (We'll carry on)
Go and try, you'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part

We'll carry on!

Okay If you haven't seen the Spn video for this, watch it. It's amazing.

Just putting that out there xD

But one of the reasons I love that video is because it features this song. And this is a very hopeful song.

Literally some of the lyrics are "Carry On." And yes there's death and sad things written into the song, but darkness is where hope lies. By definition, someone has to find hope based on something bad that has happned. But when people can find hope and share it with others- well, it's amazing. Because you found something you liked that helped you, and then decided to help others.

Maybe we aren't angels chained to the earth, but we aren't devils who can't fly either.

And that's why we are human- because we can focus on the despair, the darkness, the suffering. We can be devils who fall in flame.

Or, like in this song, we can carry on.

We can rise, and fly, and give hope to others to make sure that those we have lost haven't been lost in vain. We, as humans, have the option to be hopeful.

And I think part of the reason this song is so popular is because it represents that. Because in this, we carry our memories and the memories of others to make sure that no one is forgotten, because everyone is significant. And no one can take that away.

When we raise our voices, when we fight and stand together, we are stronger. It's human nature. And when thousands, hell, millions of people have the same hope- that is what brings us together. That hope creates and gives just as much as happiness and kindness do.

So keep your hope. Don't let it falter. And if it does, then know that others around you, especially here, will always do their best to help you because you deserve that hope.

Always keep fighting, ya idgits. And keep your hope.

You've earned it.
