Chapter 4💙 Family Ties

Elena's POV

I woke up feeling fresh and relaxed, it was good to be all wrapped up in bed without a worry in the world but then a crow came through my window and i saw Damon stood there last night, what was he doing here? I was confused and turned my alarm off and went back into my deep sleep and then I heard a knock at the door so I got out of bed and sighed and opened the door to see a very anxious Bonnie Bennett, it was only 4:30 and I knew this wasn't going to be a quick chat, I let her in and locked the door and she ran upstairs and we sat up in my bed as I turned the lamp on.

"Bonnie it's 4:30 in the morning, what's wrong?" I asked and yawned

"Elena there's something I need to speak to you about" she frowned

"Go on" I nodded

"Katherine, she was Stefan and Damon's ex right?" She asked

"Yeah, she died in a fire" I nodded

"I fount her journal, it has some pretty interesting things about Stefan, you should read it Elena, you can't be near him any longer" Bonnie shook her head

"I'm not invading my boyfriends dead ex girlfriends journal! God Bonnie that's so disrespectful and I trust Stefan!" I sighed

"No Elena it's important, I really think you should take a read" she nodded

"No Bonnie, I'm going back to sleep so you can either stay and go to sleep or you can leave, I'm not discussing my boyfriend's dead ex girlfriend with you" I frowned and turned on my side

"Ok, I'll speak to you in three hours" she sighed and turned on her side as she got laid down

Damon's POV

I was wide awake for the whole night, Caroline was fast asleep. She looked so peaceful when she was asleep but no match for Elena, elena reminded me so much of Katherine, I missed Katherine a lot and Caroline was so different from her, I didn't want to feel remorse but I didn't want to kill Caroline, I wanted to hurt someone how I was hurt but I couldn't do that to her or Elena.

Caroline moved and I smiled and so did she, I didn't love her but she was a nice girl so I couldn't dump her just yet, she laid on her back and tried to lay on top of me and kissed my neck, I pushed her away a little and she looked hurt so I kissed her and she smiled widely.

"You seem sad what's wrong?" She asked quietly

"Nothing, just a long night" I frowned

"Damon are you going to kill me?" She asked

"No" I frowned

"Then why do you keep hurting me?" She asked as a tear fell from her eye

".. I don't know" I frowned and got up

"Damon you know I love you! You keep hurting me and I can't remember why, it's like pieces of my mind have gone" she cried

"Please, don't cry" I shook my head and walked to the door

"No Damon don't walk away from me!" She cried and shouted

"I'll see you tonight, I have some things to do" I nodded and walked out

"Damon!!" She screamed

I heard her screaming as I got changed and left the house without showering, I couldn't stay there any longer at this moment. It was 6:40 so I decided to make a trip to Elena's, she was the only one that would listen to me about this whole girl thing and she made me feel better.

I knocked on the door and she opened it and she looked like she had no sleep and I saw Bonnie leaving through the back. Elena let me in and she pulled back as she smelled my disgusting scent of bourbon from the night before, she looked confused and looked at me directly.
