Mark :
Sorry if what I did earlier was disturbing. I don't know what got into me. I've been watching tons of movies lately. I miss America.

I chuckle at his random text. The words he typed came out fine so he couldn't be drunk, but it didn't seem like him.

Me :
Any possibility of you being drunk? You don't seem like yourself.

I waited by my phone for a response. "Hey, Aren't you going to sleep? You've been yawning all day." Tay asks as she enters the living room with a glass of water.

"I will in a few minutes, Unnie. You go ahead." I said, giving her a smile. She nods, shrugging it off as she walks towards her room.

Mark :
I'm drinking but I don't know what that has to do with this.

I furrowed my eyebrows. How could he be drunk? We left, literally, 15 minutes ago.

Me :
You seem completely sober to me.

Within seconds, a reply comes in.

Mark :
I'm not a lightweight. Unlike the others who are slurring already. It hasn't even been 5 minutes since we started drinking.

I sighed, shaking my head.

Me :
All of you shouldn't be drinking. You guys have practice tomorrow, don't you? You're all going to regret this.

And again, he types up a quick witty response.

Mark :
Geez. You sound like my Mom. But alright, I'll listen to you. Hold on, aren't you supposed to be speaking formally to me? I'm your Oppa.

I rolled my eyes as he changes the topic.

Me :
Alright Oppa. Go get some rest. Aigoo.. Goodnight Mark.

I put my phone into my pocket as I walked back to my shared room with Jisu, opening the door quietly and sliding into bed after I placed my phone down beside me.

Mark :
Goodnight, Teacup.

"Let me through please." I said, trying to fight against the paparazzi that crowded around the van.

But of course, they ignored my question and went on to ask questions that benefitted them and only them.

I sighed as I waited for security, knowing I wouldn't be able to go past them.

I regretted my decision of going separately from the other girls, knowing security would prioritise the large groups.

"Alright, back up." A familiar voice says.

Just then, the boys show up, using themselves as human shields. A hand reaches out to me, offering to help.

I take my chances, placing my hand into his as I get out of the van. I look up to see Mark as he wraps an arm around me, walking me to the building.

"Why did you come alone?" He asks as we entered, separating himself from me. "I didn't put much thought into it.. I thought I'd be fine." I said as I watched while the paparazzi slowly dispersed unto the streets.

"Go to the girls." He says, with a frustrated sigh. I furrowed my eyebrows, looking up to him. "Are you upset with me?" I asked, confused as to why.

"Knowing you, you shouldn't be away from your group. It's not safe, Jae." He says. "What do you mean, knowing me? You've only known me for a day and a half maybe? You know nothing about me, Mark." I spat.

My expression softens as I realised that I was overreacting. "I'm looking out for you, Jae." He explains, keeping his tone low, hoping it would calm me down.

"I'm completely capable of taking care of myself." I said, looking away as I began to walk to the practice room.

"Hyung, what happened?" I hear Yugyeom ask him, Mark's response being lost in the echo of music being played from several rooms.

I stepped into our regular practice room, greeting the girls before putting my bag down.

"What took so long?" Riley asks, as she looks up from her phone. "It's nothing, Unnie. Have all of you started without me?" I asked, looking over to Tay who shakes her head.

"Thank you for waiting. Let's begin." I said, giving them a small smile.

"So I was thinking..."

Then the discussions began, only to be drowned out by my own thoughts.

"Mom? Where are you going?" I asked as I rubbed my eyes, as I had been woken up from my sleep.

"We're going far away from here, Jae. Now run along, start packing things that you think you'll definitely need okay?" She asks calmly as my eyes diverted to my Dad who looked completely heartbroken on the couch.

I nodded, heading back to my room as I pulled up my duffle bag that was a navy blue colour, having 'J' in white on the side.

I stuffed some of my clothes in there, along with a teddy bear. I took my music box off my shelf, eyeing it as a smile grew on my face. I put it into my bag as well, along with my other things.

I got out of my room, being pulled by my Mother.

"Jae." Dad calls. I turn around realising he was still on the couch. "Dad, aren't you coming with us?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.

He shakes his head, giving me a pitiful smile.

"Jae. Promise me you'll grow up to be able to take care of yourself and Mom, okay?" He asks, as he pats my head lightly.

"D-Dad.." "You need to promise me this, sweetheart." He says, wiping a tear that fell unto his face. I nod.

"Remember, I love you."
"I love you too Dad."
