The full moon was generous to the entire town adding light to the darkness. The beautiful sight of the glowing moon and twinkling stars always made me wonder about this vast universe. I was on the terrace, looking at the stars and humming a song.
Under the moonlight, the houses with lights on, gave many messages.
"What must people be doing behind the curtains of their room?" I thought.
Maybe a student is procrastinating his/her assignment to watch tv. Maybe a guy is wraping his hands around his girl's waist.
Though I had never seen that in front of my eyes.My thoughts were interrupted by a phone call.
AAYUSH the screen displayed.
We had exchanged phone numbers after I lost the bicycle race for three Fridays. It was a kind of deal that if he would win for three fridays straight then I had to give him my number. Speaking the truth, on the third race I didn't put any effort. For the first time in my life, I prayed to lose.
Without any further delay, I picked up the call.
"Hello?" he said.
"If this is like last time then I can't solve your physics numerics" I replied remembering how he had called last time at 10 p.m. because he couldn't solve the numerical problems.
"I am not that selfish to call only for help"
"That's not what I meant. I just wanted to say that I'm on the terrace right now"
"What on earth are you doing there? It's almost 10:25, it must be cold"
"Looking at the sky" I replied exaggerating the length of the words.
"Wait for a while, let me also go to the terrace of my house"
I laughed softly.
He had the ability to control the dopamine flow in my brain. Every time we talked, I used to forget the worries.
"My influence" I made a joke.
He chuckled. God!! That voice when he chuckles.
"Oh shit. Seems like grandpa's coming upstairs" he said more like panicking.
I don't know what did his grandfather ask to which he replied, "I am talking to my girlfriend."I think the moon glowed with double brightness. I think butterflies in my stomach started breeding to reproduce millions of them.
Imagine yourself in that situation: You are talking to your crush over the phone at late night, under the moonlight, winds touching your bare arms and to make it more dramatic he tells his grandfather, "I am talking to my girlfriend.""So are we going to stay here all night?" He asked.
"No, let's go back to our rooms" I continued "uh em, I need to charge my phone. Let's talk tomorrow" I didn't wait till he replied. My phone's battery was completely fine but I had already started blushing. And anyone who had heard me talking while I blushed could easily figure out that I was blushing. I didn't want him to know that.
Call me immature, girlish mind, naive or anything but the sad truth is I got carried away by his words.
"Did he indirectly confess his feelings?" Uggghh!! I couldn't think of anything else.
"How will I talk to him tomorrow?" thinking this I went to bed.♥♥♥
We stood at the bus stop. He walked towards me, carrying a copy and a pen on his hand. Again, this lazy mind wanted me to solve his problems. While giving the pen, it fell down. He bent to get the pen, got in his knees and holding the pen on his hand said, "Will you be my girlfriend?"
Before he heard my answer, he disappeared.
I looked around only to see the dawn obeying the mother nature. It was just another dream. I didn't want to wake up from that dream but dreams with eyes closed should never replace the dreams with open eyes. I decided to get up, drink coffee and study for few minutes. As usual I went to the bus stop.
"What if the dream comes true?" thinking this I stood beside him.
"Good morning" he greeted first.
"GM" I smiled.By now he knew my habit of using the short form of the words.
"Hey, can you solve one question for me?" giving that innocent smile, he took out a copy and a pen.
He handed me a pen and I intentionally let it slip off my hand. He bent down to get the pen.
"Don't you have the energy to hold a pen?" he asked.
Aww poor girl! Welcome to the reality.
"Actually I am tired after all the things we did in our dream last night" flirty Aarya woke up after hours of studios Aarya woke up.
"What did we do?" he said almost bursting into laughter.
"We were moving into a same apartment" I cooked up the story.
"As roommates or more than that?"
"I don't remember" I acted like remembering.
"Anything would be fine" he said with a seductive smirk.♥♥♥
Dear journal,
The whole day in school was a torture as my mind was somewhere else. I couldn't stop writing all those song lyrics on my copy and guess what? English teacher had to catch me. "I was learning English through songs" I defended myself and made the whole class laugh at me.
Do you think I am getting into the hurricane instead of escaping it? But again, I want to experience this hurricane, not caring about the result to be beared.
Your confused owner,
Aarya.
