It's a new day at school so I've decided to try and make friends. This is something I would never do although I'm nearly 14 and I am going through a hard time at this time of my life so I need at least someone to help me along the way aside from my mother.
It takes me 20 minutes to get to Frame-Low High and as I arrive people are already staring at me in disgust. I think to myself "this is going to be difficult?!" It's period one and I'm sitting in English looking at everyone in the classroom until someone walks into the classroom. I hesitate to think at who this is until I come to a conclusion that she is the new girl. My brain gets really excited as I think of so many things I might do.... but before I get ahead of myself I wait until the period is finished.
50 minutes later the period finishes and I dash out of the door to find the new girl. I rush to get to her before anyone else could talk to her before me. I've never been so delighted in my entire life to meet someone that's not related to me. I startle her as she turns round to look at me. I think twice before I speak but I decide to go on.
"Hi my n-name is Tyler, are y-you new around here?" I stutter.
"em.. yes I'm new here I started yesterday and--" she said with her very soothing voice.
"What's your name?"
"My name is Sophia, nice to meet you. Can you show me where Computing is please, I'm a little lost?"
"O-ok." I say as I show her to Computing.
As you can tell I'm a little nervous to speak to people but c'mon give me credit I haven't properly talked to someone in 1 whole year.
~End of the Day~
I didn't talk to Sophia for the rest of the day although I'm just happy that I met someone today. The best part of day has come, going home. I walked home with the torrential rain clashing against my body, weighing me down each step I take.
I reach my house, my clothes absolutely drenched in rain and I change into my pjs straightaway. I think about what happened today not noticing the smile it had put on my face. I just wanted to scream in joy although I'm pretty sure my mum would get the fright of her life! I have my dinner, do some homework, read my book and go to bed ready for my birthday tomorrow.
"I really have changed the past 24 hours" I say to myself.
