A cold chill brushed my face as I marched to the "temple of learning" I called school.I was irritated ,having been up all night the day prior and ready to punch anything that
got in my way.
As I approached my locker I heard shouts and sinester laughing. Being overly curious,
I crept down the hall to find a familier face getting pushed againist a locker.
My best friend instincts kicked in almost instantly as I scambled forward trying to get
through the crowd. I frowned when I got pushed to the back of the surprisingly large
crowd. Didn't these kids have class or something?
I tumbled backwards, silently cursing my clumsy bones. Hearing my name being yelped by a high pitched voice only made me more determined to get to the owner of that voice.
Finally I pushed my way to the front ,only getting there to have to duck to have to dodge a
punch. I grabbed my best friend's arm, pulling him behind me.
The crowd went dead silent as the leader of the group thought over this situation
I glared at him as anger bubbled inside me.
"You should have just stayed out of it April." One guy said bitterly.
"Shut it Davis," the leader barked " You're interupting all the fun Hallow."
I said nothing but sent him a look that could kill, then dragged my main supporter
outside.
"Are you ok?!?! Did they hurt you?!"I asked frantically while I checked his body for possible
injuries.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw a lanky boy stood nearby eyeing us. I ignored him and continued rambling and asking pointless questions.
"April I'm fine. They just roughed me up nothing unusally" the boy mumbled to me.
"Brendon.." I started but trailed off as the boy who was staring approached us queitly.
"Uh..hi." the unknown boy stammered, looking down at his feet nervously.
"Um hi!" Brendon smiled showing off his pearly teeth.
Instatly the odd boy looked more at ease with the sound of Brendon's cheerful voice.
Brendon had this effect on people. He could make almost anyone comfortable just by talking.
He made babies laugh with his bright smile. I never understood why he was bullied.
"My name's Dallon" Dallon chripped with a toothy grin.
"I'm Brendon and this little ball of darkness is April." He replied.
I nodded and studied Dallon's face. They chatted on but stopped instantly when I gasped.
I couldn't believe it. My mind started racing. I could hear their voices trying to speak to me,
but I payed no mind. My thoughts started making their way to the impossible part of my brain.
This part always confused me and would make me think for long periods of time.
I shook my head, re-entering reality.
" You.. You were with those guys that beat up Bredon." I stated, grabbing Brendon's arm in case we had to run.
Brendon's eyes widened. Dallon put his heads up in defense. Yeah like Brendon would punch
somebody.
Slowly I backed away slighty pulling Brendon with me. He quickly squrimed out of my grasp
stepped forward and clocked the other boy in the face.
"AHH!!!!" Dallon screamed grabbing his face and stumbling backwards.
Brendon started to stride away, it would have looked epic if he didnt have a small limp.
"Wait! Please let me explain,'' Dallon wimped grabbing Brendon's forearm, "That's why I came
over here.."
Brendion glared at him but nodded slowly. He boy let out a sigh of relief, looking at Brendon .
"I am so sorry I for letting them do that to you " Dallon sniffled ,pulling Brendon into a tight
hug.
Brendon and I looked at each other, at the same time realizing this wasn't just about Brendon.
No it was more than that, and I was determined to find out why.
