I rose first. "Now that we all know we eachother, we don't have much to do. I know I'm hungry and I've got cash, so..."
"CarBella, you know our kind is always hungry, so let's go!" Will shouted. He rose and took up a playful canine stance.
"Will, settle down. I don't have enough cash to feed you all. If you guys don't help, I'll feed myself. That includes not feeding my brother and boyfriend."
They all whined. The boys began pull out cash and hand it over. We had fifty dollars at the end.
"Do we have enough?" Kyle asked eagerly.
I recounted and said, "Yeah, but we all can't go to the store. There's thirteen beasts walking into a store with food on all of their minds, and that would definitely annoy me, so I'm gonna send Jesse, Kyle, Eric, and Theodore. Jesse knows what I and Collin want, Kyle's got Will, and you two," I gestured towards the last two in the group," You have the rest of us to feed. Now go on." I nodded towards the gas station down the street, near the main road in town.
Jesse walked over to me, "Hold on to this for me, please." He handed me his phone, which was normal.
The other three gave me their phones to hold as I handed Kyle the money. I knew he'd take the best care of it. He had always been conservative and obedient, which I respected greatly.
They walked off as the other guys wandered around me. Will, as expected, hugged me from behind once Jesse was out of sight.
He stood a moment before whispering in my ear, softly enough to where only I could hear, "Why are you with him, girly?"
I whispered back, "He asked and it sounded like a good offer. I've learned from him and he's been adaptable to my lifestyle."
"Baby girl, he ain't no wolf. You gave him that. He already don't respect what that's done to you or what kind of a gift that is. If he hasn't found that out yet, he never will."
I bit my lip, exploring the idea that I had ignored for a long while. Of course, being who I was I had seen many flaws in him, but they never really arose as big issues.
He kissed my temple, like he's always done while hugging me like he was now. "I know it's rough. I know you. You kept him because he was a benefit and the issues are always in your mind, but he'll never see that you know his flaws until you want him to." His arms tightened around my waist before he released me.
Collin and Raúl were the next to interact with me. They walked over within the next few minutes.
"Chiquita, you are a good leader." Raúl complimented.
"Thanks. I was born with it." The conversation went on, using several Spanish phrases and words the three of us knew.
Jesse's phone buzzed in my pocket. I checked it. It was a phone call from an Ava. It had no profile picture. I answered, which I always did when I had his phone as I held a finger up to the boys, signaling for quiet. I placed the call on speaker.
"Hello, this is CarBella."
"What? Why did you answer?" Her voice told me she somehow had known me beforehand.
"I always do when Jesse's phone is in my temporary possession. Can I help you?"
"Uh... no. But now that you'll want to know, Jesse was never loyal to you. He's been with several others." Her voice was cruel, expecting me to freak out.
"And to think I didn't know that from the beginning." My voice was full of sarcasm. "I could've told you that's what he was doing before we got a together. I just never had any proof. I do now. Thanks, girly."
The other end was silence for a long while. "How did you know? Why did you stay with him? He always says you never know, that you're too blind to see it."
"I am not just a normal girl. He knows that. I've learned many things from this whole ordeal and I'll learn much more."
There was obviously faked calling of the girl's name in the background. " I have to go now." She hung up before I did.
