I'm a Barbie girl,
In a Barbie world
I'm feeling like plastic,
It's getting drasticFollowing everyone else,
I think I need some help
To get back my creation,
My own imaginationI'm blindfolded by stereotypes,
I do what they say's right
I need my own mindset,
What they think I must forgetI'm brainwashed by society,
Thinking I need to be pretty
That without makeup and fancy heels,
I can't be beautiful, can't be realFollowing their take on perfection,
As I stare at my own reflection
What have I now become,
I'm cornered with no place to runI'm a Barbie girl,
In a Barbie world
Feeling like plastic,
It's getting drasticAlways following what others say,
Heavy load of makeup on a bright summer day
Six inch heels and styled up hair,
Looking like a model everywhereIf I don't look beautiful then they will start to talk,
Judging the way I smile, judging the way I walk
Blindly following the stereotypes,
Thinking that society is always rightI'm a Barbie girl
In a Barbie world,
Look where life is getting,
My plastic's melting.~Liv
This image really hit me hard because there's nothing more startling than reality.
One of the biggest problems the world faces today is the fear of judgement. My To- Do list often revolves around 'Look pretty, eat less, smile more, repeat.'
The one belief in everyone's head is that they can only be loved if they are pretty.
Perfect.
Plastic. What we don't come to realize is that real beauty isn't six inch heels and bright pink lipstick. It's not the perfect body or designer clothes.
Real beauty comes from within.
There is nothing more beautiful in a girl than her belief that she is beautiful.
