Papyrus x Mettaton- Public

I meant to do this one A LOT sooner, but things came up and I never got to it. Anyhoo, sorry for the wait and here it is!! Requested by @youXareXmyXsunshine

Papyrus clenched his bony hands together tightly as he bounced up and down in excitement. It was his first time backstage at one of Mettaton's concerts and he couldn't be happier. He was a hit with the locals from the moment he arrived, and became a national sensation when Alphys created an energy efficient battery for his EX form. Everyone either wanted to be him, or be with him.

Of course, he was taken by none other than the Great Papyrus. However, Papyrus was innocent and sensitive. It was for that reason Mettaton decided to keep their relationship hidden from the world, hidden from anyone that wasn't considered a close friend.

Once the show was over, Mettaton exited through the maroon stage curtains with a massive smile spread across his face. "Success! Darling, did you see it? Did you see it?!"

"Yes, it was splendid!" Papyrus always loved the shows Mettaton put on.

"Now, let's go to my dressing room, shall we?~"

Papyrus followed the star through the hallways backstage as he avoided camera crews and fans (most teenagers) screeching about how much they adore him. After seemingly and eternity, they arrived at a door with a star-shaped panel on it reading "Mettaton."

As soon as he had taken his seat, Papyrus's thoughts were interrupted by a shocking proposal from Mettaton. "Papy, dear, I think we should go public."

"What?"

"I mean- I'm famous now. Of course everyone is trying to pry into my personal life. The tabloids are after me. I know it's selfish of me to ask this of you, but if we went public, I could sleep well knowing they won't make any crazy assumptions about me."

Papyrus took a moment to ponder the idea. "I, the Great Papyrus, will gladly go public with you!!"

"Yay!" Mettton leaped forward and wrapped his metallic arms around the skeleton. "Thank you, Papy. Now, I have an idea of how to do it. And we'll need some help to do it."

Everything was in place. Mettaton walked onto the stage of his talk show like he normally would, and he greeted the crowd with his usual "Good evening, my darlings!~"

The audience roared as the star continued. "Tonight we have a very special guest joining us tonight. Please welcome the Great Papyrus!"

Everyone clapped as Papyrus walked out onto the stage and took his seat next to Mettaton. The two stared at each other romantically, and Alphys, disguised as a regular audience member, yelled "J-just kiss already!" as she was instructed to do.

The crowd let out an "Awwwwwwww" and Mettaton and Papyrus began to blush.

"Allow me to introduce our guest." Mettaton began. "Papyrus is the official captain of the Underground's royal guard and a great friend to say the least." He bit his lip. "And also a great boyfriend."

Undyne, who was hidden backstage, then dropped the rope she was holding, causing a contraption to release tons of rose petals onto the stage. The audience was in shock. But their clapping and cheering showed that they loved it.

"We did it!" Papyrus cheered along with them.

"Yes, Papy darling. We did."
