I use the key in my hand to unlock the door to experiment 1201. I gulped as I slowly opened the door, as to not startle whatever was inside. As soon as I went inside the room, I closed the door behind me and turned the light on. It wasn't really that great of a light though, since it was so dark still.
I looked forward to notice a pile of black fur curled up on the cold floor. I walked closer to it and as I did so, the wolf-like creature woke up suddenly, startling me slightly. It slowly stood up on its four legs, looked at me, then began growling.
Its eyes... They were an almost soothing shade of green. I'd say that the eyes were emerald green. Although the colors were calm, the aura I felt from them wasn't. The creature was giving me a hate-filled glare. A glare that meant as a warning sign, a sign that it could kill me if I approached it.
But I have a job to do.
I, Dirk Strider am a scientist. Research is the main part of my job. Although I focus more on engineering, if I am told to examine research subjects like 1201, I am more than capable of doing so.
....Even if some of the "research" is morally wrong....
I walk closer and closer to the creature. The creature backs away, remaining in its defensive stance. I keep going up to it until it couldn't back up any more. The creature finally barked loudly, then jumped up in an attempt to attack me, but before it could, I dodged it with ease and pushed the button on the remote in my hand. I heard a small zapping sound as I did so. The creature whimpered and weakly collapsed on the floor.
So that's what the remote is for...
I took this opportunity to sit close to the creature and give it a close, proper examination. I first checked its ears. Pointy, and soft... along with the inside of the ear that was pretty healthy and clean. I next examined its face. It had sharp teeth and fangs all inside its mouth, a dry nose, and its eyes were a beautiful green, just like before.
I continued to examine the creature a little while longer until I came to the final conclusion that besides the eye color, this creature seemed like an ordinary wolf.
Why is this creature here in this lab? It has an interesting eye color, sure, but besides that, its no different than any other wolf from a forest. There must be a catch to it... I just know it.
The creature continued to whimper. Damn... That must have been one nasty shock... I kinda felt bad for it so I tried to pet it. It flinched away, but as soon as I started to pet its soft fur gently, it relaxed slightly and stopped its whimpering. After petting it for a while, it eventually went back to sleep.
I recorded everything I examined of this subject, then stood up. I approached the door and glanced at 1201 one more time before leaving and locking up the door.
I was truly interested in 1201 now. I want to know more about it... Maybe if I ask, I can examine it regularly. Yeah. That sounds like a good idea.
Once a guy like me is interested in a subject, I'll do anything to know more about it.
Absolutely anything.
