Logdate... It doesn't matter anymore. A Homeworld ship attacked while Steven and the others were retrieving the Greg. We would have all been destroyed if it weren't for Lapis. She was... amazing.

I tried to use my metal powers, but Homeworld ships are mostly nonmetal alloys and gel propulsion systems. I doubt I could do much even if it was fully metal, I can barely lift a car. Lapis... Lapis fought it by herself. She managed to destroy it, but it crashed into her when she... when she looked to see if I was okay.

She's not shattered, but she's very badly cracked.

The Human, Connie, tried to help us, "Steven told me about a fountain that could heal gems! We can go there and-"

"The warp pad was destroyed." I cut in. Lapis was focusing on holding herself together.

Connie thought a minute, "We could... We could use the barn's warp pad!"

"Lapis can't fly us, and we don't have a vehicle."

"We can take the Dandai!"

"We don't have the keys, none of us can drive, and I think it was destroyed along with the car wash."

"We could... We could..." She started again.

I felt myself start to cry, "We can't!" I yelled, "We can't do anything! All we can do is wait for Steven to get back, and hope he does so in time."

Connie snapped her fingers, "What about your power? You could carry Lapis to the barn with some of the wreckage!"

Lapis stood up, shaking as she spoke, "I... can fly... to the barn, I think. But I don't think... I'll be able to get... to the fountain, on my own."

"Lapis, don't strain yourself!" I grabbed her arm, sitting her back down.

She stood back up, "Peridot... trust me." Her gem's crack spread a little. Her entire body glitched for a moment, before she settled herself. "Let's go."

I flew next to her on a trashcan lid. She looked... almost peaceful. I, however, had to focus hard not to cry. She... stopped. Just flying in place

"Lapis?" I floated back to her, "What is it?"

"Peri... I-I'm not going to make it to the barn." Her body began glitching again, "And Steven isn't going to make it."

I was in shock, "Lapis, don't say that!" I began to panic, "We can... We can..."

"No... We can't... Haha, I just can't catch a break..." She looked at me, "I just wanted to get over the water before I shattered."

"Lapis..." I couldn't stop myself from crying, "I... I..." I couldn't get it out.

"Peri..." She kissed me on the cheek, "I love y-"

And then she poofed, for the last time. Her gem shards fluttering down to the water below. I fell. I couldn't keep the lid floating. I just wanted to sink...
