Knight of Treachery

I stood outside in the cold winter night on my balcony. Although it was cold I couldn't really feel it. There was a party in my honor for graduating from the university. Today was a very special day not only because I finished college but tonight was the night I am going to propose. In my pocket I had a small ring box. Inside was an engagement ring, I had saved up for it over the years. I have waited long enough for this moment and there was no turning back.

The door slid open, it was the girl of my dreams Mordred Pendragon who had opened it. "You ready to go?", she asked. I nodded. We went passed through the crowd of people in the house we made it down stairs to the front door. We stepped out into the streets to feel a cool breeze of winter air. Mordred shivered "Jesus, its cold!" Mordred tremble while crossing her arms. I took my jacket off and offered it to her. "Here!" I tell her while passing it to her. I was able to stand the cold it seemed like she needed the jacket more than me. Even after five years in a relationship Mordred still blushes when I hand over my jacket. I found it really cute and that the fact that she hates blushing.

"So where did you say you wanted to go?", she asked me. I didn't give her the full details I had asked her if we could go out. I grabbed her hand and walked her. I began asking her questions about her future. I needed to know what she wanted so I could fulfill her every need. I want her to know that she married the right person. Mordred didn't go to college after high school she worked for her family at their cafe.

We then entered a public park, I looked at the trees that had loads of snow on them. There were no people at this time. Two reasons, because it was cold and the holidays are in a couple days and most people want to be with their families. We then stopped by the water fountain in the center of the park. Mordred noticed that I stopped and turned to face me. "Something wrong?", she asked. There was a bit of pain in my stomach, it was the good kind of pain. I had tried my best to not stutter just like how I did in high school when I first asked Mordred to be my girlfriend.

I had no problem with Mordred being my first and only girlfriend. I've always had my eyes for Mordred. I cleared my throat and hoped I wouldn't mess this up. "Mordred..." Here goes, I thought to myself. I grabbed her hand while looking into her eyes. She looked at me with a blanked face it was hard to tell her reaction, then the thought of her never wanting to get married came across my head. She then gave me a slight smile which was a good sign. "There was a reason why I've brought you here. Mordred, I want you to know that I love you very much. Ever since the first day we met, even if that day you did kicked my butt—". Mordred gave a small laugh remembering the strange way they had met in kindergarten. "—but regardless of that I've always had my eyes for you. And even till this day I still do. Which is why I know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you." I reached into my pocket and pulled out the ring box. I bend down on one knee while opening it. "Mordred Pendragon, I promise to always stand by your side and be a loving husband. Will you marry me?" I asked her. The beat of my heart began to rise, what was seconds felt like hours. I looked at Mordred and she looked so happy. So happy that I never seen her like this before.

"Yes, yes, yes I will marry you Henry Jekyll!", she cried in tears of joy. She bend down to my level of height and had dropped me on to the pile of snow. I got the ring and placed it on her ring finger. It fit her perfectly just like Cinderalla's glass slipper. She gave me kiss; it was our first kiss as an engaged couple. I had cherished it just like how we did on our first kiss. There was another reason why I had brought Mordred somewhere where there were no people. It's because I know that Mordred doesn't like crying in front of people like how she just did when I asked her to marry me. I think she had known that just by the way she looked at me.

I was the happiest man on earth, I'm going to marry the girl of my dreams, I have support from my family and friends the only thing that is stopping me is me. Nobody but me knows this that I have another personality within me, he is very vicious and cruel that he needed to be destroyed, he is only one that could ruin everything for me. His name is Edward Hyde.
