This is going to be depressing I'm SORRY

-----

<Y/N's POV>

I can't believe he's gone.

-
4 days before
-
"It seems like it's been forever since we've had a chance to just go out, like just you and I."

You looked at Harry who's sitting across the table, trying to find the right words to explain what's going on in his mind.

"Listen, (Y/N)... I'm so sorry that I've been so busy and not paying attention to you. I don't mean to hurt you. Please know that I love you." He looks so sad, and you can tell instantly by looking into his eyes, that he deeply regrets not being able to spend as much time with you as he would like.

"Harry, it's okay. Please don't beat yourself up over it. I love you too." You reach across the table and intertwine your hand into his, trying to comfort him.

-
Present
-
That was the last conversation I had with him face to face before it happened.

-
1 day before
-
You heard your phone ring from the other room, but you blew it off because you were doing homework. After about 10 minutes, curiosity got the best of you and you got up to see who called you. You see Harry's name on the screen but don't think twice about it. You click the play button and listen to the voicemail that he had left you. Harry's cheerful voice instantly starts playing through your phone speakers.

"Hey (Y/N)! I haven't been able to talk to you much and I miss you! We should meet at Nando's. I have a question that I've been dying to ask you! You should wear that..."

All of a sudden, you hear the sound of glass smashing and then a scream, then the voicemail turns to static. You put down your phone in terror, unable to comprehend what you had just listened to.

-
Present
-
Sometimes, I think that if I would have answered the phone right as I heard it ring, maybe he would have been saved.

Maybe I was the reason he crashed in the first place.

Maybe if I would have just gotten up, I would have been able to call someone for help and he wouldn't have died.

-
3 hours after
-
After staring at the wall for about 3 hours, unable to fathom what had happened, you got snapped out of it.

The phone started ringing again, but it was from a number not saved into your phone.

"Hello, is this (Y/N)?"

"Yes. Who is this?"

"We are calling about Harry Lewis. He's in the hospital with a coma." It took you a minute to realize that he could have a chance to live.

With brightened spirits, you replied,"Okay, I will be down there as soon as possible."

As soon as the phone hung up, you got into your car and drove to the hospital.

As soon as you ran in and got to his room, you started to bawl. Seeing his pale body laying on the bed caused you to break down. It made you lose all hope.

-
The day it happened
-
You had stayed in his room that entire day, waiting for something.

Anything.

He hasn't moved since you've been there. The only movement in the room is the constant flow of nurses in and out.

In and out.

Eventually, a doctor came into the room. He had a sullen look on his face and you already knew the news.

"Harry won't be waking up. I am sorry for your loss."

It took you a minute to realize that he was actually gone. The doctor quietly left the room and let you mourn in silence. You went up to his lifeless face, and kissed him one last time. He felt so cold, and then it hit you that you would never hear his cheerful voice saying your name whenever he came into the flat. You would never see his beautiful eyes again. You wouldn't be able to listen to that award winning laugh. Nothing.

The last thing you heard was a voicemail.

Well what a way to return to this book.

I feel like this is totally shit with the like "you" then switching to "I" but IDK
