Chapter 12

That night I had a horrible dream, images of my father's death and the invasion flashed before my eyes. I woke up in a cold sweat. I sat up fast breathing hard, Gladio was already up. Get out the tent to see him and the guys training. The sun hadn't even risen yet. I yawn and stretch as I walk around them to make coffee. I watch the guys train for while, they seemed to be getting out their anger more than actually training. Soon they are all panting and laying on the ground as I sip my coffee.

"We should head out, we need to get to insomnia to see what has become of the crown city," Ignis says pushing up his glasses. He was fully dressed and ready to go. Soon after we all get dressed and pile into the Regalia. The drive didn't take to long, so as we were in sight of the gates we noticed something was off. War ships flew over our heads and there was a blockade waiting for us. Ignis turns the car into a back round. "seems we must take a detour."

we get out of the car and all slowly walk through the side buildings outside the city, we soon were faced with soldiers. Noct phases to them and starts the attack. I phase out my sword and attack as well. I don't like to use magic to fight weak enemies. It is just a waste of mana. We destroy them easily and continue on the way but we are met by more enemies. Soon we kill them all and get to high ground that looks over the city. Smoke rises from the city, more war ships fly over head and Prompto turns on the news. It talks about the attack along with the Kings death along with Noct and Luna also being dead. They mention that I am still missing and probably also dead. I look to my brother and see his pain. Prompto drops his phone and soon Ignis picks it up for him. Noct and gladio both call someone. Gladio is probably talking to his sister while it seems Noct had called the Marshall.

"I just heard on the news that I am died and so is Father and Luna! what is going on!....Cor... Fine. "

"What did the Marshall say?" Ignis asks.

"He said he will be in Hammerhead." Noct says solemnly.

"what about the king?" I ask, I didn't make eye contact with him.

He looks down, "Its true.. He is dead." I close my eyes and turn around. Gladio pulls me into his arms.

"Ash it's going to be okay." Gladio says to me, I just shake my head and stay quiet. He pulls me close into him, holding me tight.

"We better head out then," Ignis say. We all turn around and slowly head back to the Reglia. I look back toward the city I once called home and saw it in ruins. Gladio grabs me hand and pulls me lightly with him. We all stayed silent, from the walk to the car to getting in to the drive back to hammerhead. The air around us was solemn, it had even started to rain. This made the mood even more evident.
