Set Up: Part One

(A/N: I'm not sure how many parts i'm gonna make of this one, right now there are 3. Let me know what you think of the first 3 parts and if you like it, I'll make more :) )

ALEX X READER 

You hear a knock at your door as you walk into the living room of your small apartment. You sigh as you grab your purse and open the door to reveal your best friend, Kara Danvers, with a smile across her face.

"You ready?" She asks enthusiastically as you shut and lock your door.

She was taking you to office game night at her apartment. As long as you'd worked at Catco, you just never had any interest in playing board games on a weeknight, but you promised Kara you'd go, so you were locked in at this point.

"As ready as I'll ever be." You say sarcastically as you both make your way to the car.

The door to Kara's apartment swung open and beyond it you see your friends, Winn and James, as well as kara's boyfriend, Mon El, that you've met on many occasions. But there's one person that isn't a familiar face. She has short red hair and is wearing skinny jeans and a black flannel. As soon as your eyes fell on her, you couldn't take them off.

"Y/N, this is my sister, Alex." Kara says as the redhead walks up to you with her hand extended.

"Looks like we're gonna be game night partners, Y/N" She tries out your name on her tongue with a slight smile.

You look over Alex's shoulder and see that Winn and James have already partnered up, and Kara and Mon El's partnership was kind of unspoken, so she was right. You were with alex. Little butterflies flutter around in your stomach as your eyes flick back to her's.

You nod, "We should get started then." you say politely with a smile.

You and your partner find a spot on Kara's couch as she poured the wine into glasses and game night begun shortly after.

As horrible as you and Alex were at virtually every game that was played that night, you had fun. there was something about Kara's sister that put your stomach in knots, but you couldn't quite put your finger on it. You hugged Winn and James goodbye as they left, waved goodbye to Mon El and gathered your belongings to leave as well.

"Hey, Y/N.... I had fun with you tonight." Alex says shyly as she walks up to you.

You see Kara watching the two of you from the kitchen with a grin plastered on  her face. What was she up to?

"Yeah, I had fun too. It was really nice to meet you." You say with a smile, "I'll see you around then?"

Alex nods without a word then retires back to the living room as Kara and you walk back out to the car.

"Soooo.... what'd you think?" Kara asked as she drove you back to your apartment.

"If you're trying to give me the 'I told you so' about game night, there's no need. I admit that I ended up having fun." You say, laughing.

"No, i'm not taking about game night." She laughs along with you, "I'm talking about my sister. What'd you think of her?"

It was kind of weird that Kara would ask you that, but you answer her question regardless.

"She was nice. I liked her a lot." you state simply, looking straight ahead.

Of course you weren't going to say that alex gave you a feeling that you couldn't figure out, not around her sister, even if she's your best friend.

"That's it?" She questions with the raise of an eyebrow. "There was nothing else that you wanted to say about her?" She asks as she pulls up to your apartment building.

You were even more confused now. You picked your bag up and slung it over your shoulder, preparing to get out of the car.

"No... not really. I just met the girl, Kara." you chuckle as you push the door open.

"i'll see you at work tomorrow." You say with a slight smile before waking back up to your apartment.
