The first week back to school to on me to places in my head, and they weren't pretty to go through.

Today was my friends birthday and if course, I had to force myself to let him appreciate my participation. Riley is now turning 17, like me, and we get along quite well. He does not know about my situation or Ruby's; that would be unforgivable to him.

As I polished my nails white, my outift was the same one as yesterday since I didn't have anything else to wear. I applied mascara and walked to the living room as a knock was at the front door.

I walk with my high heels, I changed them, and opened the door to see Joshua with a handful of tortilla chips and salsa. I couldn't help but laugh however, he let his giggle out with me.

"I'm here to babysit that little munchkin of yours, where is she?" He escorts himself and lays the condiments on the kitchen tables as I walk near him, letting my heels click.

"She is playing with Jenna, her friend, but she will leave in a minute so don't worry about babysitting two kids." Cheerfully I said as I played with the hem of my skirt and couldn't help but giggle at my outfit.

As Jenna leaves, I leave as well to not be late to Riley's birthday party so I kiss Ruby's cheek to say goodbye. Before I went, she grasped my arm to keep me still for a few more seconds.

"Tyjo, I don't want you to leave me. What if he asks me stuff?" She refers to her mind and how she is shattered...I couldn't help but drop in fatigue.

"You know Josh, he wouldn't do that right?" Trying to reassure this broken girl while she solves the 1000 piece puzzle on her gray carpet.

She nods and I finally get the sign that it's okay to leave and I couldn't help but say goodbye to Josh too.

"Bye Joshie, be good to my baby okay?" I wink and leave without giving him time to answer but I could tell he was blushing.

I'm such a tease...

The night has come to an end and I am not excited to go home. Riley's party was unforgettable; the friends that cared for me, the chill of the pool made me smile.

As I walked in the house, the sense of popcorn fills my nose and I desire for some of the food. Quickly, I observe where those two are.

I walk softly into my room to see Ruby sleeping on Joshua's shoulder and Josh half asleep watching SpongeBob. The setting of this scene made me burst out laughing and I got Ruby to her own bed tucked her in and sang her her song she always sung.

"Ruby I hope I see you, I've waited all this week..." The words slip off my dry tongue like I know they lyrics by heart.

She was carefully placed with my hands, on the other hand, she will wake up again to scream. Maybe she will stop tonight after her evening with Joshua.

Maybe not...

Finally, the courage to escorts Joshua to his own house so he may sleep in his familiar sheets. I walk him down the shaking streets, open the usual door and think of the first time we met, and covered him with 2 duvets.

His mouth was slightly open with his right arm laying on his naked chest and his left arm tucked in the white sheets. I kiss the side of his mouth; he needed it.

However, I did not want to leave but I had to. I turned off the light and walked home to go in temporary death.

My chapters are short because I don't want to rush the story so I will take it slow.
