Is This Love

Chapter 8

I sniffed and looked away from his reflection. He quietly sat down next to me. I quickly moved away from him, making sure he wouldn't touch me.

He sighed. "Kate...." I looked at my bruised wrist again and sniffed. I wiped the tears away making it look like i hadn't been crying.

I felt a gentle hand on my back. "I'm so sorry about before. I-i didn't mean to hurt you and say those things. I was just angry...." I rubbed my sore wrist. "And i guess...you wont accept my apology after what i did."

To be honest, i actually don't want him here right now.

I felt him move closer. I turned my head in the opposite direction. "You wont even look at me." I didn't say anything again. I felt his hand move to my sore wrist. I flinched. He moved again so his warm body was against mine. "May i have a look?"

I still didn't look at him but i slowly showed him my wrist. He sighed and grabbed it gently. I felt him rub it gently. "If i tell you why i was angry...will you forgive me?" He spoke in a calm quiet voice, almost a whisper.

I peeked over my shoulder at him, basically saying 'yes' ." He smiled and rubbed my wrist again.

"I was angry because...well...This is gonna sound like i'm being a baby but...when you...kept going on about the drawings...that did make me angry and also...."

As he kept on talking i felt a buzz inside my wrist. I peeked over my shoulder at what he was doing to it. I saw some kind of blue smoke wrapping around my wrist and making the bruise disappear.

"Today...seeing you surrounded...by those men, you looked like you were enjoying it...that made me extremely angry." The bruise disappeared and he removed his hand from my wrist.

"When i saw you with that smile on your face i...was even more mad."

Finally i turned my head to look at him. "Jealousy?" He smiled and nodded. "Jealousy." We stared into each others eyes.

For some reason it felt like we were getting closer and closer. I closed my eyes and i felt our lips touch. Loki's hand moved to my neck and he deepened the kiss.

'Wait, what am i doing!? One minute you were 'kind of' scared of him and now...your kissing him!! This is a mistake, Kate!'

I pulled away and looked down at the water.

"I'm sorry...i...." I shook my head. "It's fine." He sighed and grabbed my chin, lifting it up. It looked like he was about to kiss me again.

He stopped and sighed. "I should go." He quickly got up and left. "Loki." He jogged away. I sighed and looked at the water again.

I smiled and touched my lips. 'Come on Kate, you know you liked it, you want more!'

I didn't know what to think. One side of my brain was saying 'no this is bad, very very bad, stop it!!' And the other half was saying 'YES!! Go get him! Kiss him back, tell him how you really feel!!'

It was now night time in Asgard and i was heading to bed. That whole entire time at dinner was so awkward. I mean, a few times me and Loki did look at each other but that was it.

I herd the sound of men shouting. I frowned and opened my eyes. The sun was already up and shining bright.

I got out of bed and walked out to the balcony to see what the noise was. I looked out. There was heaps of men carrying wood, tools and metal. Obviously their building something.

I looked out into the distance and saw Loki on a black horse with another man on his horse. They both had swords in their hands and they were fighting each other.

I smiled and kept watching. The man took off on his horse. Then Loki took off after him with his sword held high in the air.

'He must be training.' I sighed and looked down at my wrist. It was a bit sore and red but the bruise did disappear because of Loki. I rubbed it gently.

There was a loud knock on the two giant doors. I looked behind me and saw Thor walk in. He smiled. "There you are!!" I smiled back. "Here i am."

He walked out onto the balcony and stood beside me.

"You've slept in." I giggled. "Yeah, i noticed." He nodded. "Where were you yesterday? You just...suddenly disappeared and never returned." I sighed. "I um...just needed to get away for a while."

He pulled a worried face. "Why? Are you ok?" I nodded and covered my red wrist with my hand so Thor didn't see it. "Just got a bit home sick, thats all."

I felt bad not telling Thor what happened. I wanted to tell him but then i didn't.

"I hate to say it but...you can't return." I looked at him. "Why!?" He sighed. "You see, the Bifrost can't take the mortals and...we can't let you go back, we need to keep this place a secret."

I sighed and hit my hand on the railing. "So i'm stuck here forever!!" He nodded. I groaned and covered my eyes with my hands.

'So i'm stuck here with Loki? This is all his fault.'

Thor smiled. "And anyway, it will be fun! Living in the palace with the royal family! You'll never get bored." I looked out at Asgard again. "Ok then." He clapped his hands. "Perfect! Now you go get dressed and i'll be waiting just out side your chamber. Then i'll take you on that tour."

He quietly walked out.

Thor had shown me around and we had been walking around for a while and once again he got called to do something. So it was now just me, by myself, walking around.

A few hours had passed and i was walking back to the palace. I herd two men come up beside me. At the same time they said "hello."

I smiled. "Hello gentlemen." One stood in front of me and the other grabbed my hand. "You look a bit lonely, my lady. Shall we go for a romantic stroll." I giggled. "No thank you. I was actually on my way back to the palace."

The one holding my hand smiled. "We shall walk you back to the palace then!"

I laughed. "I'm right, thank you." They both looked at each other and frowned. "Oh, see what i was talking about! Your ugly face scared her!!"

The other one let go of my hand and pushed the other in the chest. "You can't talk! Mother said we have the same face!! Your the one scaring her!" I couldn't help but laugh. Obviously their brothers.

"Sorry gentlemen, i must be going."I started to walk away. I herd them call to me "wait up!!"

They both walked beside me holding my hands. "My lady, is there any chance that you are available tonight?" I smiled. "I will be busy tonight."

'Lie.' The other one smiled. "You are very beautiful! Such a mysterious creature!" I giggled.

Suddenly i saw Loki walking to the palace as well. He was reading a book as he walked. He must of herd the mens loud voices because he looked at us.

When he saw me he smiled and held his hand up to wave. But when he saw the men beside me, his smile disappeared and he put his hand down. He continued on to walk, except faster.
