"Hindi kana nakikinig sakin!"

"Maddie, I always do."

"No you don't! Eh hindi ka nga nakikinig sakin ngayon eh!"

Bea took a deep breath and sat down on the couch. Frustrated.

"Madeleine."

"No, Isabel Beatriz Paras De Leon. Do not 'Madeleine' me. You listen to me. Lagi kanang umuuwi ng hating gabi at palagi ka nalang nakatunganga sa letseng phone mo na'yan!" She sharply sucked in air through her gritted teeth. "I swear to god, I will burn that stupid phone!" Her finger curling into fists.

Bea looked at her girl in disbelief. What has gotten into this girl?

"Buntis ka ba wifey?"

Natahimik si Maddie, stunned at the question.

"What? Hindi ah!"

"Then why are you so angsty?"

"Ano?" Mas nakapagdagdag lang ito sa inis ng chinita.

"I'm only allowed to be angsty if I'm pregnant? My feelings are valid, Bea. Hindi ko kailangang maging buntis just to validate those. At sino ka para sabihin yun, Isabel Beatriz?" Napasimangot si Bea. Labis na nalilito.

"Wifey naman eh, hindi iyon ang ibig kong sabihin."

"Yun yung punto mo, Bea! And don't you dare ask me if I'm PMS-ing either!"

The frustrated girl buried her face in her hands before standing up.

"Maddie, makinig ka nga sakin."

"No Bea, ikaw ang makinig sa'kin!"

"Oh my fucking god!" Bea finally found some peace at the corner of the room.

"Oh you ungrateful child, do not curse in my house!"

"This is also my house, Madeleine Yrenea. Just tell me what's bothering you," Bea said calmly.

"You've been neglecting me, that's what Beatriz!"

"Kuya Loel is getting married next week, Mads. I have to arrange the reception, flowers and such," Bea replied calmly.

"So kung magpapakasal si Kuya next week Bea, what about us huh? We're getting married in a year."

"A year is a long time."

"If we are getting married next week, would you ignore your brother then?"

"Huh?"

"Yeah huh, Bea."

"YOU. ARE. NOT. MAKING. ANY. SENSE," Bea frustratedly said.

"I'm making perfect sense! Hindi ka lang nakikinig."

Bea took a deep breath, trying to reason with Maddie.

"You know what Bea, get out."

"This is OUR HOUSE Maddie."

"I don't care."

Bea clutch into her throbbing head because of the girl that is not making any sense or whatsoever.

"Just leave Bea. Take what's yours and leave."

Bea stared at Maddie blankly and sighed.

She picked up her hoodie and walked towards the dining room, where her wifey was standing.

Without blinking, she scooped Maddie up in her arms and went straight to the door.

Maddie choked out, "Ano sa tingin mo ang ginagawa mo, Bea. Put me down!"

"Taking what's mine. Now shut up, I'm taking you out for dinner."
