Fix

Silence was never a good thing for the two of them.

It always ends up with Maddie throwing a fit and Bea walking out of the room.

Right now it is a nice thing to have someone else in the room. Someone who can stop them from shouting. Someone who can stop them from running away.

"Hindi ka ba masaya na nakapunta ngayon si Maddie, Bea?"

Maddie looked at Bea coldly. Bea could only sighed.

"Mads we promised we will..."

"Ikaw lang. Kung 'di dahil kay Daddy ay wala ako dito. Napilitan lang ako."

The tone surprised Alyssa but let it go and allowed the couple to speak their mind.

"I have been trying hard, Maddie. Why can't you just give us a try?"

Alyssa can sea Bea's determination to fix the marriage. And seeing Maddie closing her eyes everytime Bea speak was an indication the woman's word bothered her.

Dahil ba tapos na talaga ito?

O dahil nilalayo lang ni Maddie ang sarili niya.

"Okay ladies, let's just get to know each other first."

Alyssa decided to cut the tension. The two nodded so she continued.

"How did the two of you met? I want to know how the two of you fell inlove."

Bea blushed, "Uh..uhmmm."

"She was my bestfriend's girlfriend," Maddie answered with an irratated tone.

It's been years but Bea still find that fact awkward. "Really?"

The couple nodded.

"So asan na siya ngayon?"

"She's in US. Perfectly single at the moment," Maddie replied with a hint of venom in her tone.

"Mads."

"Kaya pa ba nung bestfriend ni Maddie nang magkakilala kayo, Bea?" Alyssa asked Bea to which the younger woman nodded to.

"I see. So when did the relationship started?"

They fell in an awkward silence. Maddi sighed and Bea rubbed her temple.

"With your silence it seems that we have an unresolved issue here."

"There's no issue. Bea's just an idiot."

"How come?"

"I was a substitute," Maddie stated.

"Stop it, Mads. You never were."

"Talaga ba? Kung hinintay mo lang sana si Therese ay kasal na sana kayo ngayon."

The force in those last words died down and Alyssa can clearly see the pain in Maddie's eyes.

"Kung ganoon. Pipiliin mo ba itong si Therese over Maddie if you were given a chance?"

"No."

"Bullshit!" Maddie stand up surprising the other two people in the room.

Alysaa held Maddie's hand and asked her to sit down.

"Maddie it's okay. We'll get answers from Bea."

Maddie took her seat and faces away from Bea who's now looking at her like a lost puppy.

"Tell me Bea, how was your relationship with Therese?"

"We were bestfriend too. More than friends but less than lovers I guess."

"You were never intimate by her?"

"No," Bea replied without any dread.

"But you were her girlfriend..."

"She was introduced as such," Maddie butt in.

"I suppose."

"Alam ba ni Maddie na nagbreak na kyo?"

"We didn't tell her because we're all friends. We don't want her to choose."

"Okay. Next question, how did you two get together?"

"We work in the same company."

"Are you still both working there?"

"Yes. Bea is the CEO and I'm the VP."

"Wow. Now, when did Bea showed her interest, Maddie?"

"She never asked me on a date."

"You never asked her?" Alyssa asked in disbelief.

"Never," Maddie answered for Bea. Bea just scratched her head.

"So I assumed when you confessed, Maddie did not believe you?"

"Right. It took two years."

"How did you get her to believe you?"

"She never did. Our family arranged the marriage," Maddie answered without warning.

"It's an arranged marriage?"

"Yes."

"So Maddie was forced to marry you?"

"I hope not." Bea sadly smiled.

"Agreeing to the marriage is?"

"It was a mistake," Maddie replied.

"No."

"So Bea, paano mo narealiza na gusto mo si Maddie?"

"The day I met her."

"But you were still with her best friend."

"I ended it. I told her what I feel towards Madeleine."

Bea reached for Maddie's hand. At least now, Maddie is not complaining about the act.

"Did you respond to Bea, Maddie?"

"Not after 2 years."

"You gave Bea a hard time."

"She deserved it," Maddie pouted. Bea and Alyssa smiled.

"I'm giving you the free pass to marry off Therese, Bei. Hindi ko na 'to patatagalin. You can marry her next month."

"I was inlove with you. I am inlove with you, Mads. I'm going to be married to you till the day I die. I love you."
