I really wanted to write about the biblical peoples (Adam and Eve) and Mitch again lmao

"Adam! Have you seen Mitch?" I yell when I can't find him anywhere downstairs.
"What?" he yells back from upstairs. Mitch and I were playing hide-and-seek when the little bastard got sneaky and hid somewhere I can't even find him.
"Mitch!" I screech. "Baby, where are you?" I call, hoping he'll just come out from under the couch or something.
"I'm upstairs," Adam yells.
"Not you, dumbass," I laugh.
"Hey!" he complains, still upstairs. Suddenly, I hear giggling, and I know it's Mitch hiding somewhere.
"Mitch, honey, where are you?"
"Just say fuck or something and he'll start his chant," Adam yells, making the giggling grow louder.
"I'm not about to—" I stop. "Oh fuck it," I sigh. "Adam, get down here, you swearing ass," I yell.
"My ass doesn't swear, thanks," he retorts, but I hear him coming down the stairs nonetheless. Before I can even say anything, I hear a thud, and he suddenly curses, "Fucking stupid step trying to murder me."
"You tripping?"
"On acid?" he retorts, making me snort.
"You're such an idiot," I laugh, and he comes into the room, a grin on his face.
"Oh you love me."
"I tolerate you," I correct, and he rolls his eyes.
"Anyway, where's the little booger hiding?" he asks, looking around the room.
"I don't know. I can't find him anywhere."
"Just scream "fuck" or "shit" or whatever and he'll reveal himself."
"Fuck fuck fuck!" I hear from somewhere.
"Mitchell!" I say, going toward the voice.
"It sounds like he's in the closet."
"I looked there," I tell Adam.
"You mean you fucking looked there."
"Fuck fuck fuck!" Mitch giggles, and I open the door to the closet.
"It's like triggering a dog by shouting "walk"," Adam laughs.
"Hey, don't compare our son to a dog," I laugh.
"Yeah! I'm a wolf," Mitch yells before bursting out from under a pile of clothes and charging into my arms.
"Fuck!" I shriek, falling backward and making Adam catch me. Mitch latches onto me like a monkey, his arms and legs wrapped around me, and Adam helps me regain my balance.
"Mommy said fuck!" Mitch giggles, seemingly ecstatic that he'd outsmarted the both of us.
"Yeah yeah yeah," I laugh, relieved to have finally found him.
"Let's play again!" he yells, making Adam laugh.
"Did you give him sugar?" he asks, and I look to him, raising an eyebrow.
"No. But you did."
"No I di—"
"Daddy and I ate cookies!"
"Mhmm," I respond, trying not to laugh. "Nice try, but he's on Mommy's side."
"Little snitch," Adam jokes, trying to pry Mitch off me. "I even gave you the last cookie."
"But you went upstairs instead of playing hide-and-seek with us," Mitch retorts, sticking his tongue out at him.
I stifle a laugh, and Adam rolls his eyes.
"Fine, let's play, then. You and me against Mom."
"Hey that's not fair," I protest.
"You hide, Eve."
"Dammit, Adam," I laugh before pulling Mitch off me and handing him to Adam. "No cheating."
I run out of the room before quietly going upstairs into our bedroom. I move beside the dresser, where there's a small dark space.
I can hear them counting before screeching like banshees, "Ready or not, here we come!"
I hear footsteps approaching, and somebody comes into the bedroom.
"I know you're in here, Eve," Adam sing-songs, and I try not to laugh. Mitch steps into view, and he glances to the side, meeting my eyes for a moment before grinning.
"I don't think she's here," he says, moving out of view.
"Are you sure?"
"She's probably in the bathroom," Mitch replies, and I slowly stand up. Seeing Adam facing the other direction and Mitch distracting him, I quietly slip out from beside the dresser.
"Okay, then," Adam says with a shrug, and he starts walking forward when I tackle him from behind. "Wha—HEY!" he yells, and I start laughing.
"I win," I tell him, jumping on his back and wrapping my legs around his torso.
"Get off me! This isn't the game we're playing!" Adam laughs, and Mitch latches onto his leg. "You sabotaged me!" he accuses as Mitch giggles.
I kiss his neck, making him whine. "Let me go, you monkeys!" he demands, trying to walk with Mitch clinging to his leg.
I finally climb off him and pry Mitch away, picking him up myself.
"Round two!" Mitch yells.
"Who even won this round?"
"Certainly not me," Adam grumbles.
"You never win anyway," I tease, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"Well I've got you and Mitch—I think I win sometimes," he responds, making me blush.
"That was cheesy but very sweet," I tell him, and when I try to lean in to kiss him, Mitch suddenly smacks my cheek. "Mitch!"
"Next round!" he yells.
"Okay, okay," Adam laughs.
"We can continue this later," I tell him.
"I'll hold you to that."
