Happy Birthday, Jay: October 2014

It's spooky here.

Has Halloween arrived?  That means, two more months until Jason's birthday!  Or was it three?

The girl has visited me thrice now.  She was wearing a costume she called, 'The Snow Queen.'  Or was it 'Snow Red?'

It was a long, yellow skirt, topped by dark blue with lined red, especially on its sleeves.  A scarlet barrette bow matched this, and she also held a fake bird on her shoulder.

She waited for birds to pass by, as more and more came, and played and laughed with them, such gentle laughter coming from a child, even with the darkness of my cave.

When she got tired, she rested under my branches.  When she felt a sudden spark of energy, she'd attempt to climb my branches, but whenever she did, I would shake them no, leaves swaying and swishing with them.

But then, she was falling from a long, and I tried to reach out.

But I was a tree.

Yet I still tried.

And tried and tried and tried, but ---

I probably would've stumbled over if I weren't a tree,  A thick branch had reached out and caught the little girl.

Her head lolled back, unconscious.  Hopefully she suffered nothing bad --- Oh no.

A special ability of being a tree: by paying the price of standing still, you can hear and sense the life of creatures on Earth.

This little girl no longer had life in her.
