Its wing continues to brighten more and more each day, passing by my mahogany trunk and branches each and every hour.
When, suddenly, I see my brother climb from the outside of my little cave.
How was he doing? What was he doing? Why is he doing what?
'Greetings, tree,' he leapt up to my scaly wood and sat under my shadow.
'It's my birthday, you know. My seventh birthday since my sister went missing.'
Seventh? Jason...
'I've missed ya, tree. Haven't seen you in a while.'
Then he went silent for a long time.
'I heard a little girl died from whiplash on one of your branches. I had hoped it wasn't Theia... and it wasn't,' he looked up at the sky. 'That means she's still out there. Somewhere.'
Then he went silent for a long time.
'You know, tree... I've been missing mom and dad '
